Well, here we go. I received a sabbatical grant for my proposal to travel to Kenya to create a trip for Moorestown Friends students next March. Next two weeks should have meetings, school visits, interactions with villages, maybe even some pickleball, and of course, a ton of amazing wildlife!

The blue lagoon wasn't my favorite anyway, but you have to wonder about the long term prospects for them. There are so many other options for hot springs, but it is amazing to see the road covered with flowing magma!

I didn't realize how much of their produce Icelanders grow in greenhouses using geothermal heat and good gardening practices! We visited The Friðheimer farm and had lunch. The entire trip everyone remarked about how fresh tasting all the food was, not what they expected.

Though weather here and on the sun play a big role, we are entering a period of increased solar activity over the next few years, so the chances to see the aurora at the right times of year (October-March) in the right places (Alaska, Canada, Iceland, Scandinavia) should be good! I've been lucky enough to see them in Alaska and now in Iceland in the last two years.

The Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth Texas. Designed by a Philadelphia architect Louis Kahn is renowned for its use of natural light. I’ve wanted to get here for a long time. Like most cities in the US, Ft Worth was a really fun weekend trip!
