Disney has long been a part of my dreams, my travel, my work, and my passion. Early in my career, I began working for Walt Disney Theatrical Group in New York City. My career continued to grow as I moved into a position at Disney Publishing Worldwide. In 2015, I joined Magical Vacation Planner as a travel agent to help families discover the best way to travel! As Disney enthusiasts, my husband and I began vacationing to Disney World and Disneyland early in our years together. Traveling continues to be an important part of our family as we share this love for Disney and travel with our children, building magical memories of our own. With Magic Kingdom just 5 miles away, Disney is literally in our backyard! We continue to expand our first-hand experience as our traveling takes us to Universal Orlando, cruises, and more! ✨Throwback to Last Week - Day 5 (Part Deux!) of Chanse’s Disney Dream Birthday Adventure! 🥳

Honestly, I’ve been distracted these last few days wondering how birthdays on land can ever compare to this one at sea! 😂

Here is a snippet of our final night on board the Disney Dream last week, which was also Chanse’s 11th birthday! The smile with his lopsided pre-dinner ice cream cone says it all!

When we returned to our room to freshen up for dinner Chanse found a nice surprise gift from his counselors at Edge. This bag is going to be perfect for all his future Disney Cruise adventures and the certificate signed by all the Edge counselors is the special souvenir that vacation memories are made of.

Chanse is not a cake kid, and while he doesn’t like care for chocolate, cookies & cream ice cream is his thing. So, our amazing servers brought him a bowl with a ‘candle’ and serenaded him during dinner. 🍨✨

After dinner Chanse spent the rest of the evening hanging out with his new friends in Edge, staying until the very end to watch a special video the counselors made for all the kids. Meanwhile, I was in the lobby atrium, saying goodbye to Mickey, Minnie, and all our favorite Disney pals! 🐭❤️

It was a birthday we won’t soon forget and I am so glad I got to spend this special one-on-one time with my guy.

Day 5 on the Disney Dream – A Very Special Birthday at Castaway Cay! 🎉✨

Throwing things back to Wednesday, we kicked off our last day on the Disney Dream with a fun surprise – a certificate commemorating Chanse’s 11th birthday on board! 🥳💌 We thought this was super cool and the perfect way to start our day.

After breakfast we got off the ship to enjoy Castaway Cay, Disney’s first private island! 🚴‍♂️🌴 We rented bikes to explore the island, which has become one of our favorite activities. From the lush scenery to the peaceful vibe, it never disappoints. Then it was time to kick back on the beach and Chanse treated himself to a strawberry daiquiri 🍓🍹 – because hey, it’s his birthday!

We enjoyed a delicious BBQ lunch from Cookie’s Too, and after that, it was back on the ship. With fewer guests on deck, we took a quick ride on the AquaDuck and soaked up the sun by the pool while playing a few rounds of Uno.

We spent the rest of the afternoon solving a case with the MidShip Detective Agency (a fun ship wide scavenger hunt!) 🕵️‍♂️ and a visit to the Oceaneer’s Club for a little nostalgia since Chanse just “aged up” to Edge – the kids clubs on Disney Cruise Line are just amazing! 😄

Day 4 on the Disney Dream at Sea! 🌊

Yesterday was a day at sea full of fun, laughs, and an ocean breeze! We enjoyed a morning of foosball and ping pong on the sports deck🏓 Afterwards Chanse met up with his friends at the Edge Youth Club, where they hung out on their private sun deck and swam in the pool before we met up again and got our hands busy learning to fold towel animals! 🦒🐘 Chanse loves towel animals, so this was especially exciting! 💙 We played couple rounds of shuffleboard before Chanse went back to Edge (yes, again!) and then we were off to enjoy the incredible live stage show of Beauty and the Beast in the Walt Disney Theater before dinner 🎭

Today, we’re off to Castaway Cay to celebrate Chanse’s 11th birthday in paradise! 🎉🎂🏝️

✨ Day 3 recap on the Disney Dream - Port Day in Cozumel! 🇲🇽

I honestly don’t know how we will top this birthday adventure 🥳 We kicked off yesterday at Goofy’s Sports Deck, where Chanse had a blast playing all kinds of sports in the sports simulator. 🏀 ⚾️ 🏒 The real sporting highlight of the day though was our Lucha Libre wrestling excursion! After an awesome high energy show Chanse got to meet his three favorite Luchadores and even snagged their autographs and a mask to take home! 💪🤼‍♂️

On the way back to the ship, we did the ultimate tourist thing—Chanse held a sword and posed with a floating pirate! 🏴‍☠️ 🗡️ He thought it was super cool!

Back on the ship, we ordered room service, and Chanse told me “thank you for taking me on this cruise I am very grateful.” My heart melted. 💖

After some late afternoon fun in the Edge youth club, we saw a magician on board in the theater and then had dinner at Animator’s Palette which had a special surprise - Crush not only posed for photos but sang Happy Birthday to Chanse! 🐢🎶

So grateful for these special moments with my boy. 🥰

Day 2 aboard the Disney Dream – Sea Day Adventures! ⛵️

We kicked our day off yesterday on the golf course…. mini golf on Goofy’s Sports Deck! Afterwards Chanse and I took the plunge on the AquaDuck 🌊💦 before he set off to Edge to enjoy the private sun deck area shared by both Edge (for kids 11-14) and Vibe (for ages 14-17)! We met up for lunch and then enjoyed the pool deck some more. I watched Moana on the funnel vision while Chanse hung out with some new friends he made and took another ride on the Aqua Duck with a new buddy!

The evening was complete with Pirate Night festivities and swashbuckling fun. 🏴‍☠️ Chanse made sure we had the most excellent viewing spot for both pirate night shows and then we watched the fireworks at sea which are always absolutely amazing.

Today we are in Cozumel and have a fun adventure in store! 🇲🇽 We can’t wait for another amazing day!

Cruise Day 1 – Disney Dream Adventure Begins! 🚢✨

What a way to kick off Chanse’s birthday trip! We had a blast at the Sail Away Party, and even stuck around on deck to dance away as the Disney Dream set sail. 🎉🌊 After soaking in all the fun, we headed back to our stateroom for a little downtime and a few rounds of Uno! 🃏

Chanse was excited to check out Edge, the super cool youth club for ages 11-14. With tons of activities and space to hang out, he was hooked right away and decided to hang out there for a while before dinner 🎮♟️🕹️

I, on the other hand, found a little slice of paradise in Pink, the chic adults-only champagne bar 🍾🥂. It’s the perfect place to unwind while the ship sails to our next destination. We’re already making memories, and this was just part of Day 1!

Chanse’s birthday is coming up this week! 🥳 It arrives just as we are coming out of the holiday season and heading back to school. When he was younger we celebrated with all our friends annually over New Year’s which was awesome. A few months ago I asked him what he wanted to do to celebrate this year and he wanted to go on a cruise. With just me, and no sisters 😂 I asked him a few more times. Same answer. I asked again five days ago. Same answer. And so I took action. And today, we are sailing away on the Disney Dream! 🚢 🥰😍

For a middle child, it doesn’t get much better than this! I’m beyond excited to spend the next few days at sea with my buddy. We’ve already decked out our stateroom door in full celebration mode 🎈 and started planning all the activities we want to do using the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app.

Oh, and where are my Disney Castaway members at? It’s Chanse’s first cruise as a Gold Castaway member which he was so excited to realize! ⭐️💛

✨ Traditions evolve, and so do we! ✨

For the past five years, our Christmas Eve tradition has been dinner at Disney World 🎄🏰—it all started back in 2019 when we were still living in New York and stayed at Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter for the holidays. We kept this Disney tradition going when we became Disney locals in 2020 🥰 This year, we decided to switch it up! Instead of our usual dinner, we had a spontaneous stay at French Quarter last night and kicked off the morning with a delicious breakfast at Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory. 🥞✨

We’re spending the rest of the day with our “chosen family,” and we couldn’t be more excited to create new memories together. I love how traditions grow and change over time and that Disney has become a part of so many of our magical memories. 💗

I’m very grateful to help so many guests plan their perfect vacations and create their own traditions and memories! 🏰✨ Yesterday, I helped a guest plan a vacation for just five days from now (so excited!) and this morning I was busy helping guests with Lightning Lanes so they can maximize their time in the Disney parks. I absolutely love what I do and feel so lucky to be part of your Disney journeys! 💫

Sayler had the best time soaking in the holiday magic at Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter this evening! From the festive Christmas decor to the jazzy alligators leading the way to the pool, every corner of the resort is full of holiday cheer. 🐊🎅

We couldn’t have asked for a more magical spot to make holiday memories! 🌟 Fun fact - we also stayed at this resort for the holidays five years ago when Sayler had just recently turned 1 years old! Seems like the start of a tradition to me! ❤️

It was a blast seeing Shrek, Fiona and Donkey who complimented my green vest; and when I showed Sayler afterwards that I met Gabby she thought that was one of the coolest things ever! Thank you, !

We disembarked from the Disney Treasure at Castaway Cay for a quick jaunt, and what an amazing day it’s been! 🌴✨ Kicked things off with a surprise visit from Mickey Mouse himself! He was so excited to see us and we were able to thank him for inviting us on this adventure. We had a delicious lunch at Serenity Bay – the adults-only section of the island. 🥥🍴 The weather is perfect, and the water is the most stunning shade of blue you’ve ever seen! Feeling so happy and grateful for this magical experience and I can’t wait for my guests to enjoy this ship and their own day at Castaway Cay! 🏝️
