We’ve just returned from a fabulous week at sea onboard the massive Icon of the Seas! Throughout the week, I’ll share some of the spaces on board and our experience, starting with the pools.
✨ Most popular: The swimup bar, Swim and Tonic
✨ Largest: Royal Bay, a large pool with a beach entry and many chairs that sit in the shallow water
✨ Adult only: The Hideaway infinity pool at the back of the ship with an adult only bar and pair of hot tubs
✨ Our favorite: The Cove smaller pool with infinity edge overlooking the ocean and ledge lounger chairs
There’s also a pool in Surfside, the family friendly waterpark and play area, perfect for small kids. And Cloud 17, another infinity pool with a great breeze on deck 17.
🙋♀️ Were they crowded? For most of the day, no, not at all. Midday (1-3pm) was most crowded but still nothing like many ships that have only 1-2 pools.
🙋♀️ Was it hard to get chairs? It was never hard, but as we moved through the week, people came out earlier and earlier. There are TONS of places to sit outside- so you could always find something, but go early for a spot next to a pool.
