🌀Hurricane Ian Update for Walt Disney World Resort🌀

🌀Walt Disney World Resort is currently operating under normal conditions as we prepare to make necessary adjustments based on the latest information from the National Weather Service. We continue to put the safety of our Cast Members and Guests first and will share updates as we monitor Hurricane Ian.

💫Current Updates: 💫

🌀🏨Disney Resort Hotels:
Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, Copper Creek Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, Treehouse Villas at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa and the Bungalows at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort since these locations will temporarily close Wednesday, Sept. 28 through Friday, Sept. 30 due to the weather. We are contacting Guests with current and upcoming reservations.

🌀🌊Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon will close temporarily Wednesday, Sept. 28 and Thursday, Sept. 29. (Disney’s Blizzard Beach is currently closed).

🌀⛳️Winter Summerland Miniature Golf and Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf will also temporarily close Wednesday, Sept. 28 and Thursday, Sept. 29.

🌀🍽Reservations for Dining and Other Experiences:

We will not enforce cancelation policies until further notice for dining and other experiences like Savi’s Workshop and Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.

⛈️We are currently monitoring weather conditions and will communicate any changes to park operating hours or special events at a later time.

🌀⛈️The most up-to-date information about temporary closures and impacts will be available via the My Disney Experience app, DisneyWorld.com/Weather and the Disney Travel website.

❤️A gentle reminder about using a Travel Advisor….

Travel Advisors are not paid unless you book your travel with them.

They’re paid after you travel!! They are only paid then on the commissionable pieces of your vacation (I.e. rooms, tickets, VIP tours, party tickets) and those commissions don’t begin to cover the real hours invested, research done, money out of their own pocket traveling to have first hand information, classes taken…. I could go on!

So if you ask a Travel Advisor for advice after booking a trip on your own, or ask questions so you can book on your own, please know they’re advising you for free from the generosity of their hearts (though insurance gets tricky there).

And remember Almost ALL vacations from Disney to Alaska, Cruises to Caribbean islands and even European vacations have a Built in Commision which is how the Travel Advisor is paid anyway! So booking on your own just omits you having professional help that you paid for anyway! 🤷🏼‍♀️

Also If you pretend you’re planning to book with them 😩, take their advice and then book elsewhere, you’re hurting a real person who is aiming to be a professional and pay their bills, but getting burned with lost time and money that can’t be recouped.

Most Travel Advisors I know will maintain their professionalism, wish you a wonderful trip, and walk away feeling gut-punched. But the truth is that’s a very tough situation. I know because I live it.

You don’t have to use a Travel Advisor to book your travel. Perhaps that isn’t for everyone. But asking for advice from one, trusting what they share with you, then deciding to skip their services, just isn’t ethically right.

Luckily these experiences are few and far between for us. Kingdom and Cruise Travel has the best clients that ever existed (Truth!!), but I wanted to be honest about how this feels to a Travel Advisor.

If I were missing something important that undercuts someone I’m working with, whether it be a Real Estate Agent, attorney, lawn care provider, etc, I would definitely want to know.

Thank you for listening/reading. 💛 This has happened many times lately to some of our FANTASTIC agents and it is hard. I try to explain that often people truly have no idea how things really work so I just wanted to share!!! 😘😘
