We’re reposting one of our most viral videos of 2024 to bring you some helpful tips for visiting Zion in 2025!
So you didn’t win permits to hike Angels Landing? All is not lost! Here’s what you can do!👇
📆 Apply for the day-before lottery: Even if you don’t win the advanced seasonal lottery, there are still a number of last minute permits that are issued each afternoon for the following day. You can apply until 3 pm and then permits will be issued at 4 pm and will be valid the following day. Apply through recreation.gov.
🥾 Hike to Scout’s Landing: Hiking the first 2.25 miles of the Angels Landing trail to Scout’s Landing does NOT require a permit. This means you can still enjoy stunning views of the park. The chained section that takes you to the summit, which begins right after Scout’s Landing, DOES require a permit issued through @zionnps. Rangers may check your permit at any point on the trail both day and night.
🤝 Hire a guide: So you didn’t win permits but really want to complete the chained section? Or maybe you’re hesitant about attempting one of “the most dangerous hike in America” alone? That’s where we, @eastzionadventures, come in! Zion National Park issues a handful of permits to guide companies each year to allow us to guide you safely up Angels Landing. If you book with us, we’ll take care of everything including permits and transport. We have very limited availability for the first half of this year, with only a handful of dates through May- so plan ahead now! Visit our website (link in bio) for more info on our Angels Landing guided hike.
❓We’re happy to answer any questions you may have in the comments, or please refer to the @zionnps website for the full details as we couldn’t include every detail in this post. Happy hiking!
