I’ve been asked by so many people every fall time. Why do I go up to Door County‘s fall festival where it’s crazy busy every single year? I get asked why I like it so much? The answer cause it supports local and it’s absolutely awesome and it’s a long time festival! Learn why I love about this festival in the history behind it by watching the six minute video. I have been going to this festival since the 80s and my dad and his siblings have been going way longer than that! Enjoy this video created by Peninsula Pulse Newspaper and Peninsula Filmworks. They did an awesome job creating this video and almost brought tears to my eyes seeing the memories that mean so much to me and the entire community.

This is a favorite of our entire family. My dad and his siblings along with my grandparents, have been patrons of Sister Bay Bowl since it opened. Today, as a third generation, I take my family and friend’s every time we are up there. Now, we have the 4th generation, my daughter Rylee, who is 2 1/2 and loves going to eat and watching people bowl.

They have the best fish fry, (recommend the perch) and the best broiled or broasted (your choice) pork chops.

Oh yeah, the unique trademark bread, oh so yummy, served as a loaf of half white and half rye. This is one of my personal favs!

Happy 80 years to the Sister Bay Bowl family! We look forward to the next 80 years and beyond!

This is such an amazing video as well as a great summary of how beautiful is in the fall and always. We want to thank our great guests Ken and for sharing this amazing video they made of their trip and how much they enjoyed and many other things we have around the area.

Thanks so much Ken and Bri!

🔥 Burn bans are still in place in Door County. Campfires are ok especially at local campgrounds but no bonfires or larger fires of any sort! It is windy out this afternoon as well so be careful and be cautious.

Sturgeon Bay Fire Department Fire Chief Kalin Montevideo said she will be “assessing” this weekend so check back to see if anything changes at least in the City of Sturgeon Bay. 🔥

Egg Harbor Fire Department & Ephraim Fire Department Fire Chief Justin MacDonald said burn bans definitely are still in place and, “will be in effect for the foreseeable future.”

Southern Door Fire Department Fire Chief Rich Olson said their burn ban is, “Still On. Basically we are back to where we were a week ago.”

B.U.G. Fire Department Fire Chief Curt Vandertie said, “Burn ban still in effect. Rain had little effect on
Drought conditions. After 1 inch of rain, the following night we had a grass fire in the ditch on state highway 57 likely due to discarded cigarette. Winds and no significant rain in extended forecast. I see the ban staying for a while. Camp fires in contained areas are still allowed.”

Nasewaupee Fire Rescue Fire Chief Jacob Schartner said, “Nasewaupee’s burn ban is still in effect for the foreseeable future.”

Gibraltar Fire - Rescue Association Inc. Fire Chief Andy Bertges reported, “We follow the state. We are still in high fire danger. Ban is in effect unless by special permit. Campfires are allowed regardless of the fire danger, even in low fire danger, you are responsible for it. If it escapes because of your inattentiveness, lack of knowledge of fire conditions or ability to contain the fire, you will be held responsible for all the damages. The reason we allow campfires is because typically they are at night and are small. The relative humidity has recovered so an escape poses a lesser risk and because you have a way to extinguish them easier to control and contain.”

If you are a fire chief in Door County and would like to update your cinstituants, please message Let’s Go Door County with an update for your municipality.
