Since the morning of it’s eruption, the airspace around Iceland’s newest volcano has been buzzing with small planes, helicopters and drones. Airborn tourism has risen tremendously over the last few years in this country as many believe that to truly appreciate the scale & beauty of Iceland you need to see it from above. From the air, you can feel the heat rise up and hit you almost instantly, it’s palpable and creates near tropical conditions as the warm air contrasts with the cold wet air off the ocean.
