SLICE of SAPPHIRE

The rich enchanting blue color of the sapphire is not the only reason why we are drawn to this beautiful precious gemstone.

Sapphire is the blue colored gemstone from the corundum family well known for its beauty and hardness (only next to diamond rated at 9 on the Moh's scale).

DID YOU KNOW the colors of a sapphire

1. BLUE SAPPHIRE: A sapphire in blue color is known by the name sapphire alone

2. YELLOW SAPPHIRE: In any shade of yellow, it is known as a yellow sapphire or 'PUKHRAJ'

6: WHITE SAPPHIRE: Not the most likely choice for jewels but this one is getting its place finally with its elite milky flavors

Have you ever worn a Tiger's eye?

It is a variety of quartz with bands of 'sheen' in stunning tones of brown to yellow. The most gorgeous ones actually look like a tiger's eye complete with the intensity and fire.

It is one of the most interesting intriguing gemstones that you can come across. The chatoyancy in tiger's eye quartz is caused by very fine strategically aligned tube like inclusions.

8. Golden Beryl

ANSWER: Lemon Topaz

Citrine: Any quartz with yellow hue comes in the category of citrine. Usually citrine has an underlying warm tone of orangish color.

Golden Topaz / Lemon Topaz / Yellow Topaz: Topaz is a semi precious gemstone which comes in a variety of colors the most popular being blue topaz and golden topaz. The words, 'golden, lemon and yellow', are all misnomers. Words that are used to glorify a simple gemstone.

Yellow Sapphire: Any sapphire with a hue of yellow. A fairly more expensive yellow gemstone than the others, it is also known as Pukhraj

Golden / Canary Quartz: Very pale and not that intense, any yellowish quartz will be described with these misleading adjectives.

Golden Beryl: A greenish yellow gemstones, golden beryl is just a misnomer for a yellow colored beryl.
