We would like to make a post and introduce ourselves to you.
We are Robert and Melinda Wood, owners and operators of our online travel agency, Gate 24 Travel.
We started this travel agency in December 2019, literally months before the entire world shut down. We started it because we are passionate travelers who believe in traveling as cheaply as we possibly can, and want to help other Grand Travelers do the same. While the first year was interesting to say the least, we were able to hang on to our fledgling business, and turn it into a modest business with around 100 clients having been served in various capacities.
If you're wondering what a Grand Traveler is, well, it's a phrase we've coined that describes someone who is middle-aged or older and enjoys traveling in any way, shape, or form. "Grand" comes from "GRAND-parent" because most people by the time they reach middle-aged are grandparents or soon-to-be grandparents. Of course, "Traveler" is one who travels. :)
We are avid cruisers. We've been cruising since the early 2000's, and quite frankly, gave up counting the number of cruises we've been on, several years ago. We absolutely LOVE Holland America, but for budget's sake, we really enjoy MSC, having cruised with them for the first time in May 2023.
Our favorite destination so far is Bermuda, having visited that island nation a handful of times with various cruise lines including Norwegian, Carnival, Royal Caribbean, and Holland America.
Our favorite private island is MSC's Ocean Cay. It offers a low-key European vibe, perfect for Grand Travelers.
We are affiliated with Cruise Brothers, who is our umbrella corporation. Through them, we are able to book all major cruise lines from budget-friendly through luxury.
We do not claim to be travel experts. To be an expert implies that one knows absolutely everything about a subject, and well, we do not. In our opinion, there's always something to learn, especially in the world of travel where things change overnight it seems. We are simply travel-enthusiastic older folks who want to help you in any way we can with your travel needs.

Recently, we celebrated my sister-in-law's birthday at Sakura in Canandaigua, NY. It was so much fun! This is the end of the hibachi where the chef sets fire around his hibachi.
