Did you know that today is World Whale Day? 🐋 This day was founded in Maui, Hawaii during the 1980s to raise awareness about the various whale species that are at risk of being endangered or threatened due to human activities in the ocean. It’s a great opportunity to celebrate these magnificent creatures and acknowledge their crucial role in our ecosystem. It is such an honor to see these whales return to Hawaii every winter and we hope you all have a chance to witness their beauty! 🐋🐋🐋

It’s that time of the year again🐋
WHALE SEASON IS HERE!
After spending the summer months feeding in Alaska and other polar regions of the world, the humpback whales are making their way back into Hawaiian waters for the winter. This is where they will breed and give birth to new whales until it is time to start their journey again. They have traveled over 3000 miles to be here.

October was a whirlwind of adventure for our Iruka Ohana! Celebrating one month with Poseidon, the newest boat in the harbor with a built in 21 foot waterslide waterslide, has been an absolute blast. Carving pumpkins underwater on the Big Island and encountering a pod of Orca Whales off the west coast of Oahu were truly incredible moments. So many great days, beautiful animals, and exciting adventures on the water. Dreams came true, and we're eagerly anticipating the wonders November holds for us. 🚤🎃🐋

The story from Captain Flow:
On Thursday, our Poseidon team made a magical discovery – orcas! Captain Kepeli and Sean initially spotted what they thought were humpback whales, but then Ezra yelled, “ORCAS!” The excitement was contagious, and we shared this incredible moment with our west side ohana. They asked, “ Are you sure it’s orcas? The black and white kind? “ It was a dream come true for all of us!

This was truly a once-in-a-lifetime morning, and we feel incredibly blessed. Join us on a tour this month, and who knows, we might get lucky enough to witness this magic again. 😊
