We’re just about a month away from the most wonderful time of the year at the Most Magical, Merriest Place On Earth, and guests should get ready for some holly jolly news to add to their “Reasons To Visit Walt Disney World For The Holidays Starting November 12” list.

🎅Meet Santa Claus at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park🎅

Over the last few years, guests may have seen Kris Kringle waving to park-goers as he sailed around the waterways of Disney’s Animal Kingdom during the holiday cavalcades. This year, guests can meet Santa Claus at the 75th Annual Dino Institute Holiday Party on the patio at Restaurantosaurus. As the guest of honor himself, Santa’s checked his list twice and invited everyone to join him in this festive new location as the students and faculty of the Dino Institute celebrate the season in (pre)-historic fashion from November 12-December 24. Guests should bring the whole family, because a Santa sighting is perfect for the little ones!

🐘Other Wild Ways to Celebrate the Holidays🐘

After stopping by Restaurantosaurus to say “ho ho ho” to Santa, guests should be sure to hoof it back to Discovery Island for the return of the happiest little animal herd around – the Merry Menagerie. These enchanting puppets feature winter animals of all sorts … and we need to boop each creature gently on the nose to start our holidays off right.

Guests can also meet the holiday hosts with the most, Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, dressed in their festive finest together at Adventurers Outpost.

And, after a full day of shopping for their gift list (Merry Menagerie merch, anyone?) and sampling delicious goodies (stay tuned for a holiday Foodie Guide coming soon!), guests can stop by after dark for sensational, seasonal Tree of Life Awakenings that bring the spirits of winter animals to life.

🎥Fresh Festive Entertainment at Disney’s Hollywood Studios🎬

We all know Disney’s Hollywood Studios is a festive place to be with the cutest retro holiday decorations – and this year, there are three new entertainment acts to fill the whole family with joy, all starting November 12!

Marvel at the skills of Juggling Elves 🤹‍♀️ – these holiday helpers deliver festive cheer with a side of shenanigans as they show off their skills of juggling, comedy and more!

Catch the jaunty jolly tunes of the Holiday Spirit Band 🎺. This dynamic brass group will make everyone want to join in the fun and stroll into Santa’s good graces.

And guests should pick up their feet and march along with Seasons Jukebox as they bring all the performance and pep of a collegiate marching band. Hard-hitting horns, rocking drummers, and dazzling dancers will bring to life everyone’s favorite holiday classics and more.

Of course, other beloved Disney’s Hollywood Studios holiday fun also begins on November 12 – like the holiday overlay to For the First Time In Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration; another fabulous place to find Santa greeting guests at It’s A Wonderful Shop; and Sunset Seasons Greetings – with festive projections on The Hollywood Tower Hotel and magical snowfall – all along Sunset Boulevard once the sun sets on Tinsel Town.

➡️ DinoLand U.S.A. Impacts Begin Jan. 13 ⬅️
Work on Tropical Americas continues with the installation of progress walls at Disney’s Animal Kingdom on Jan. 13. The last day of operations for TriceraTop Spin, Fossil Fun Games, and Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures will be Jan. 12. During this time, DINOSAUR, the Boneyard, Restaurantosaurus, Dino-Bite Snacks, and Trilo-Bites will remain open.

➡️ Update on “The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure” ⬅️
As we continue to look forward to “The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure," at Disney’s Hollywood Studios we are taking the next steps and filing permits for an all-new marquee. Work on the exterior of the building will begin soon, in preparation for the premiere of this fully reimagined show in summer 2025. We look forward to sharing more details on this exciting new experience soon.

➡️ Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Temporary Closure ⬅️
Following this holiday season, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad will temporarily close for refurbishment beginning January 6, 2025. The attraction will reopen with a little bit of new magic in 2026.

➡️ Reminder: Jungle Cruise Reopening Oct. 16 ⬅️
Jungle Cruise will reopen on Oct. 16. The attraction will remain a treat location during the remaining Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Parties. And coming Nov. 2, Jingle Cruise returns!

‼️ ‼️ UPDATED: Monitoring Hurricane Milton ‼️ ‼️

We continue to closely monitor the path of Hurricane Milton. Based on the latest projection, we are making additional operational adjustments for the safety of our Guests and Cast Members beginning tomorrow, Oct. 9.

The Walt Disney World Emergency Operations Center is connected to weather experts and community leaders. Please know these adjustments have been made in order to leave plenty of time for our Guests and Cast Members to return to their Resort hotels or homes safely hours before higher winds are expected to reach Central Florida.

Operational Impacts Include:

Walt Disney World Theme Parks
➡️On Oct. 9, our theme parks and Disney Springs will be closed in phases beginning at 1 p.m.
➡️Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom will close at 1 p.m.
➡️Magic Kingdom, EPCOT and Disney Springs will close at 2 p.m.
➡️It is likely the theme parks will remain closed on Thursday, Oct. 10. We will consider opening Disney Springs Thursday late afternoon with limited offerings.
➡️This includes the cancellation of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom on Oct. 10. Event tickets will be refunded.

Disney Resort Hotel Closures
➡️Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground and the Treehouse Villas at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa will temporarily close beginning at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 9. They are likely to remain closed until Sunday, Oct. 13.

Transportation
➡️Walt Disney World Transportation will stop operating Wednesday, Oct. 9 after Disney Springs and the Walt Disney World theme parks close.
➡️Limited Minnie Van and Mears taxi service will be available to Walt Disney World Resort Guests.

Recreation
➡️Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon, Winter Summerland Miniature Golf and Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf will be closed on Wednesday, Oct. 9. Disney’s Blizzard Beach remains closed for planned refurbishment.

Reservations for Dining and Other Experiences
➡️Effective immediately, we will not enforce cancellation policies until further notice for dining and other experiences.
➡️Pre-paid bookable experiences will be automatically refunded within 7 to 10 business days.

Disney Resort and Room-Only Cancellation Policy for Reservations Booked Directly with Disney Destinations, LLC or The Walt Disney Travel Company:
➡️Due to potential weather impacts to guest travel plans, change and cancellation fees imposed by Disney will be waived for check-in dates of Tuesday, 10/8 - Monday, 10/14.
➡️Most room-only and vacation packages can be modified, or cancelled online, including changes to travel dates, without fees. Packages including air transportation or other services provided by third parties, or those with travel protection, cannot be modified or cancelled online. For Guests with these reservations, please call Disney Central for assistance.

Together with our partners, a decision has been made to cease commercial operations on Wednesday morning, until circumstances permit safe operations to resume. We will continue to monitor Hurricane Milton to determine the potential impact at MCO. We ask you to please continue to work with your airline directly in regards to your specific flight.
