I saw this Idea on TikTok and decided to try it. This was out scond cruise doing it. Magnetic dry erase board. You can leave notes of where you are for your roommates or pose questions for passerby’s to answer. Our Royal Caribbean cruise had ao many hilarious answers.

Please ask me any questions about this spectacular trip. Claudette, my travel buddy for this trip was such a trouper as it was her first cruise ever! She was blown away be the crew and how nice they are and the whole experience. She has already asked me about doing the California to Hawaii cruise. Watch out Thelma and Louise may be at it again!!

This was a 14 day cruise. Six sea days in all (seven if you consider the glacier day, no getting off the ship). Plenty of time to read, play trivia, go to shows, hunt for the infamous hidden cruise ducks, nap, watch movies, play in the casino, many peopme brought cards, puzzles. Board games, knitting and crocheting. Always something to do. My favorite was sitting on our balcony and read or stare at the ocean.

FOOD!!!

I love crab!! Anyone who knows me knows I loved the tv show Deadliest Catch. I am so happy to have finally eaten Alaskan crab in Alaska. I will never look at crab at home the same way again. We did eat other things, but the crab took the main spotlight.

We did get to experience a once in a lifetime event. The Northern Lights phenomenon. I sat out on the Serenity Deck from 5:30 pm to almost 11 pm to catch these. I was not going to miss them. The best show happened at 1 am, but I just couldn’t keep my eyes open any longer. Speaking of eyes, did you know you cannot see them with your eyes? Only through the camera can they be seen.

Seventh and final Port: Prince Rupert, BC, Canada

Prince Rupert is a small quiet town. We got off the ship at 9 to try breakfast there and nothing opened until 11 or 11:30. We had to hike to the one and only hotel up the hill to eat. It holds the prestigious(and I mean they are all proud of the title) Home of North America’s smallest Walmart. So small we couldn’t find it until we saw people with bags pointing behind the Safway Grocery store. 🤷🏼‍♂️ There were little craft shops set up outside the port terminal, I fell inlove with the otter and bear pictures, so they came home with me.

Sixth port: Ketchikan

This city is amazing. Very walkable, lots of shops, food open, historical buildings, great place to catch the Salmon heading upstream to spawn. We saw Creek Street, which is how (again) the women in town made there money. Nowadays Creek Street has stores and even hotel rooms in the historical houses.

Fifth Port?: Tracy Arm Fjord

This was our glacier day. We splurged on the only excursion this day. Since the ship can not go very far into where the glacier are for a close look, we were to hop on a smaller boat and be brought straight ip to North and South Sawyer glaciers. They call them the Twin glacier. Due to poor visibility, the little boats could not sail, so this excursion was cancelled.

Fourth Port: Icy Straight Point (Hoonah)

I did this port by myself. I love walking all of the Alaskan ports. I feel very safe there. My last cruise to all of these ports I walked them all alone at some point in our days there. It was extremely windy there on this day, so no Zip Liner (one of the longest in the world, I highly recommend it!) I walked to the little town, had some crab for lunch, browsed through the shops, bought a cute Russian Nesting Doll set. Parked myself at one of the restaurants for dinner and watched for hours for Orca whales, but I did see squirrels. No luck this trip for that.

Third port: Skagway

This super quaint town is home to 735 peopme year round and the population almost doubles for the Summer tourist season. So many different excursions here, feom Dog Sled/Panning for Gold (which is what we did), you will find gold and get to keep it, mine was worth $10, I didn’t say you would get rich, White Pass train into Canadian Yukon, Whale Watching to Ghosts and Good Time Girls ( a historical tour of the town, how it was built for the gold miners at the base of the treacherous pass and how the women of the town really ran it). I have taken this last tour before and it is fascinating! They even take you into the brothel of the Red Onion Saloon and tell you the story of the haunted establishment there.

Second port: Juneau

Spent the morning walking around the city, looking in shops, mailing my friend Shana’s littke girls a post card, then off to whale watch in the afternoon. Bery successful 3 hours of watching they gentle giants in their home. 5 different whales were spotted including a baby. There is the story of Patsy the official greeter of Juneau. There was wvwn a movie made about her.

I got this today! Let me help you enjoy a super enjoyable vacation. This cruise line is working on a whole new level, no extra cost restaurants, all essential drinks included, lower priced quality adult beverages and a 18+ age limit on all voyages. They support purchasing products from small, minority business. Being self sustainable and protecting the environment is a large part of this line.
