Great 3 day Adirondack adventure. Congrats to Jeff Kilmer who now is at 45/46 high peaks. Guy come from Ohio prepared and ready. We made sure his time was well spent while here. We backpacked Colvin/Pinnacle ridge, filtered water at hidden unseen waterfall, ate dinner overlooking Ausable enjoying Indian head all to ourselves, checked out every lookout we could find, spent hours hiking miles through pristine forest,camped at secluded campground and met some cool people,played some guitar by campfire,ate good fire cooked burgers, pounded out 3 high peaks including Allen one the toughest and marched through hours or driving rain and storms! Finished it all off with a stay at beautiful leanto at the loj property. Pretty much an unbeatable adventure. Good stuff whenever Jeff comes to town. Im glad to see him reach his goal and do it in such an epic rewarding way. Good stuff ,JimW- MVG

Epic weekend up in the Dacks. Friday hammered out Marcy,Gray and Skylight in blustery cold whiteout conditions with friend Gayle Shutte ,then at it again Saturday knocking out Haystack, Basin and Saddleback with Marj Wallace and Linda Grace. The epic getting up Saddleback cliff side at night during raging weather I'm sure will be remembered forever by these ladies. Good stuff! Happy to see people reaching their goals

Want to try Snowshoeing? MVG can mske it happen. We can do beginner Snowshoe treks just about anywhere in NYS right now. Winter is perfect this year. If you want to do a snowshoe outing we can do super affordable half day treks . You dont own snowshoes, no problem. We can outfit up to 3 people at no additional charge. Get ahold of me. View only few eyes have seen from private overlook in Deruyter NY. We haven't done any guiding trips this fall Unfortunately with huge crowds and insane parking up at any decent mountain area Ive stayed away and refrained from any trip. Laying low unfil the covid crisis goes away. On a good note though get ahold of me if you want to book a winter High Peaks as I will surely be returning to guide work once winter begins. Until then I'll enjoy some beautiful places like this closer to home. Happy hiking folks

Couple winter backpacking trips going on this winter. Folks we have space available in our Seward's winter backpacking trek. This covers 4 winter high. Peaks. That is December 28 and 29. We need more folks like this

Got a beautiful popular swimming hole all to myself this evening! A downside to spots like this being so close to a road and receiving such heavy use over the summer is the amount of trash that accumulates. Luckily I had some trash bags in my car and quickly filled one full after walking around the area for only 10 minutes! Join me and the Foot Stuff Crew in helping clean up & protect our wild spaces. If you pack out a BRAVE amount of trash and tag us/send us a photo we will send you a synthetic Foot Stuff Shirt! Thanks for everyone who has done this so far, y’all rock! Keep it Wild!

Awesome day pounding out Phelps mountain with Eric . Beautiful day. Took the less travelled south Meadows approach due to parking issues,but made the hike even better. 10 miles in 5 hrs. Not bad

Beautiful day todsy on Mt.Marcy doing a skills workshop. Summit was super windy snd cold. We nestled on a protected side of the mountain and spent a good 3 hours ascending using several different axe techniques and worked on self arrest. Perfect dnow condition in the spot we were in. Remarkable scenery. Finished it off with a e.5 hour descent from summit to csr. Awesome dsy

Winter high peaks Adirondacks. We have trips booked with space available for Dial/Nippletop Saturday January 12 ,Haystack and Basin January 20 and a backpacking trip covering Redfield /Cliff along with Skylight and Gray January 26&27. To get on these trips you must be in good physical condition, have prior winter mountain hiking experience and appropriate winter gear.
