On this class trip to California students are taught about the great ecological diversity that can only be found in California’s National Parks. California is the most geographically diverse state in the nation. When it comes to ecology, California is one of the richest and most diverse areas of the world and provides the perfect backdrop for school field trips. While on this excursion students will have the opportunity to experience and study some of the state’s incredible marine and terrestrial plants and animals. Photographers flock here for the natural beauty, and biologists have long come to study its wealth of wildlife. Appleseeds’ home school groups will not only explore unique habitats through active excursions, but will also spend time serving at a wild cat rescue center.

On this educational trip to Moab, students will learn about sandstone geology while experiencing the Native American cultures found in this region. The landscape surrounding Moab, holds wonderful surprises for those with a sense of adventure. Beautiful water carved canyons await your discovery as you hike, horseback ride, rock climb and raft through these amazing red canyons. Colossal sandstone fins, massive balanced rocks, soaring pinnacles and spires dwarf visitors as they explore the park’s viewpoints and hiking trails. Along with your naturalist, students will learn about geology, desert ecology and human impact on this fragile ecosystem. The group will also help with conservation programs by assisting Moab Solutions a local non-profit.
