presents the , proudly rebreathing life into the world’s 1st Soviet zoom lens.

The has 14 elements in 11 groups. and was the kit lens that came with the Zenit 6 camera. The Zenit Camera lines top model of this family, was the Zenit-6 which came with with the first Soviet photographic zoom lens, the Rubin-1. It eloquently played the role of an expensive toy in the Soviet movie ‘Zigzag of Success (1968). The main character, the photographer Oreshnikov, looks at it in a store window with a price sticker showing 400 roubles (he is dreaming about a journalistic career). His attempt to win the money in a lottery becomes the center of the entire movie.

This camera family was one of the most ambitious projects of the whole camera making of USSR in that era.

The was Loosely based on the Voigtländer Zoomar, originally designed by Dr. Frank G. Back as a motion picture lens, the Zoomar was widely considered to be the first successful zoom lens for 35mm. Both lenses have 14-elements in 11 groups, but the position of the individual elements is not the same. The Zoomar also has a slightly wider range of 36mm to 82mm, as well as the original method for zoom mechanics differs significantly.

It is with great pleasure we launch the inspired Carl Jena APO's 🚀

The Carl Zeiss Jena APO's were made in part for to map the stars. They were designed by the German lens maker in 1966. JPL/NASA needed a lens capable of capturing light in the darkest circumstances, perfect for pictures of the moon 🌕 during its Apollo Missions.

These interplanetary lenses are available for you right here on earth in the following focals.

Proud to announce our optional 12 lens set of Takumar lenses.

Handcrafted by the Asahi Optical Company, one of the oldest optics companies in Japan, these lenses carry a rich legacy. Named "Takumar" after the founder's brother, Takuma Kajiwara, they represent the fusion of family tradition and optical excellence.

In 1971, Asahi revolutionized lens technology with their 7-layer "Super Multi Coated" (SMC) process. This breakthrough reduced lens flare, enhanced color fidelity, and created a gentle contrast that artists adore. So impactful was this development that Zeiss acquired the rights to implement Asahi's SMC design on their own lenses, forever marked as Zeiss "T".

Each with open gate full-frame coverage and a 110mm diameter front.

Each lens carries the SMC legacy, providing a painterly rendition with dream-like characteristics. The 35mm 2.0 & 50mm 1.4 lenses, in particular, have gained a cult following for their magical imaging properties and buttery bokeh. Our set includes the rare 50mm 8-element Super Takumar (~1964), revered for its unique optical qualities. And the 15mm lens? It's the rare aspherical version - rumored only 400 were ever made!

This particular batch (pictured above) of doner lenses has landed softly in our Mk IV Lens Bodies. The amount of time, effort and resources that have gone into this newest facelift has been unparalleled for us. We shaved 30% to 60% weight off each lens, considerably improved close focus, new t-stop measurement process for tack sharp t stop accuracy, a brand new Helicoil focus system, engineered a new set up with an optional 14 blade uniform round iris for each lens reminiscent of the k35 iris system and topped it all off with a new sleeker, more robust anodizing process..
