Three Caribbean islands you’ll LOVE other than Jamaica 👇

Jamaica gets a lot of love (and for good reason), but if you’ve been before and you’re ready to explore a little deeper to some of the smaller islands, here are three I’m currently planning trips to for clients:

🏝️ Saint Lucia – Think lush rainforests, dramatic volcanic peaks, and the iconic Pitons. This island is made for couples who want romance and adventure. You can hike Gros Piton for epic views, then cool off in a private plunge pool with the ocean as your backdrop. It’s the perfect mix of thrill and chill. I love Saint Lucia because you can get a similar experience to Hawaii without the long flight and it's just as beautiful.

🏝️ Grenada – Sure, it’s called the Spice Isle, but Grenada is full of surprises. The underwater sculpture park? A total must for snorkelers and divers. And if you’re a foodie, you’ll love visiting a local chocolate estate or sipping rum straight from the source at a distillery. This island has flavor in every sense of the word.

🏝️ Barbados – Yes, the pink-sand beaches are dreamy, but there’s so much more to love here. From luxury catamaran cruises to secret coves only the locals know, this island nails that blend of elegance and authenticity. And let’s not forget—it gave us Rihanna. Enough said.

Every island in the Caribbean has its own unique experiences and if you ask me, that just means more excuses to book trips.

Mexico is so much more than Cancun!

One of my favorite parts of being a travel advisor is introducing my clients to new ways to explore and go beyond Cancun.

And yes — Cancun is amazing. But if you’re looking for something different, here’s a few ideas:

Isla Mujeres
🌴 Postcard-perfect beaches without the crowds
Just a 20-minute ferry ride from Cancun, Isla Mujeres feels like a hidden gem. Think crystal-clear water at Playa Norte, vibrant local charm, and epic snorkeling with colorful marine life. It’s a quiet escape where time slows down, and yes, you can still sip margaritas by the beach.

Holbox
🏝️ This tiny island feels like a secret slice of paradise.
Holbox is where I send clients who want untouched beauty and a slower pace. No cars, just sandy streets, boutique hotels, and flamingos casually hanging out on the shore. Plus, the bioluminescent waters at night? Total bucket list material.

Playa del Carmen
☀️A little more action, but with a local twist.
Playa del Carmen is all about variety. Stroll Quinta Avenida for vibrant restaurants and shops, or head to quieter beaches just outside the main area. I always recommend a day trip to Cozumel for incredible snorkeling or diving, it’s just a ferry ride away.

Saying yes to everything 2025 has to offer:

✅ A spontaneous flight to somewhere unforgettable - YES

✅ Morning coffee watching the early morning sun over the Indian ocean on a beautiful island - YES

✅Gorilla trekking in Rwanda- HECK YES! Ok this might be a stretch but I am adventurous and love bucket list experiences. P.S. If you would like to do this, the permits should be booked a minimum of 6-9 months in advance as there are very limited permits per day

2025 can and SHOULD be the year you say yes to more of the things you’ve always wanted to do and since my brain thinks in travel my mind immediately goes to hopping on planes and taking trips.

So this is me nudging you to say yes to travel too!

Whether that’s finally touching down in a destination you’ve always wanted to visit, taking a spontaneous trip to switch up the routine, or even just booking a cute hotel for a weekend trip.

Here’s the problem with booking the cheapest vacation package 👇

It feels like a win, right? Knowing you’re finally making those travel goals come true without breaking the bank. (Trust me, it's usually NOT in your best interest. Read the fine print.)

But what happens when the cheapest package means arriving at your resort too late and losing one whole vacation day or includes the resort that’s a two hour drive from the airport plus traffic=not the relaxing start of the vacation you were hoping for.

I recently helped one of my clients upgrade from a basic resort room to a suite with a private plunge pool for just $20 a night more.

No, that’s not a typo.

It’s the difference between looking for what’s cheapest and looking for value.

A small tweak like when you decide to go on your getaway can result in money saved and so much more value added to your getaway. My goal all year is to get you the most value for your money, not just during wave season.

It also helps to have someone with their eyes on offers and promotions that could match up with your trip, which is exactly what I do. Yes, I know its wave season and so you're likely to come across all types of promos, just make sure there's actually service behind what you're booking, which there won't be if you do it yourself. And another reason to delegate the planning to a Travel Advisor.

One of my favorite clients is embracing one of the most underrated but very necessary travel hacks of all time!

It’s only January 14 and she is already booked and counting down the days to her trip to Thailand later this year. Thailand is popular for 2025 and for good reason. Having personally traveled there, I can say the clear waters against the stunning backdrop of the bluffs is next level. Not to mention snorkeling, I saw the most colorful reefs when I was there. Add in the numbers intricate temples, exotic street food (hello crickets and roasted duck) and muay thai fights, its an epic adventure! I know she is going to love her vacation. I gave her the insights on some of the best restaurants and we collaborated to give her the most value for her money.

And yes, this is Phi Phi Island which can get crowded, but its mostly during the daytime. So we added two nights here so she can explore without all the crowds.

What’s that travel hack I’m talking about? I’m talking about planning early.

The destination you didn’t know you needed on your radar for 2025 if you’re celebrating an anniversary, a big milestone, or want to get away on a romantic adventure, just because!

Now, Kauai. Let me just say — the Na Pali Coast isn’t just a backdrop for epic photos (though it is absolutely stunning). This island is for you if you’re into jaw-dropping hikes, laid-back beach days, and waterfalls so dreamy they’ll make your Instagram followers jealous.

I had a couple looking for adventure and romance (yes, you can totally have both). One day, they were kayaking along the Wailua River, and the next, they were enjoying a private picnic overlooking Hanalei Bay. Their verdict? “We’re never going back to cookie-cutter vacations.”

Wrapping up for the year 🎁

I’m so ready for a few cozy nights with the family and way too much green tea (my new obsession, food, watch Home Alone and Christmas Vacation and a much-needed breather to recharge and soak in the season.

But before I officially shift into holiday mode, I’m putting the finishing touches on a dream trip to Botswana and helping a family friend crystallize where they want to go for spring break. (Yes, it's just around the corner.)

I’ll be officially back at my desk on January 2. 2025 is already shaping up to be a busy travel year for my clients so I’m looking forward to relaxation before things kick off in January.

Private conservancy vs. national parks? Are you considering a safari soon? Listen up, there are multiple benefits to private conservancies: 1. Fewer people inside the park=a more exclusive game viewing experience, no crowds 2. Option to do night game drives as you will be staying inside the conservancy which also means no early morning roadtrip to get to a park. There are so many ways I can be of service to my clients during times of disaster. One of these is by managing their trip well and includes things like rescheduling parts of their vacation when necessary. I don’t currently have anyone traveling through Florida and since I primarily focus on safaris, unless someone is traveling through the southeast, once they leave the US, there are no hurricanes in safari regions. For travelers that wish to visit warm weather countries during hurricane season I can suggest better alternatives like Aruba, Barbados and Panama. All great places to escape to for a quick getaway. Passion!! Absolutely, your Travel Advisor should exude passion when talking about your vacation. They should be so fired up it seems almost questionable. 🔥 For me, that “thing” is safari. I wish someone would’ve told me… I brought a white hat with me because it was cute. Maybe for 24 hours. Remember on a safari you will be in the wild, which means exposure to elements. I’ve been surprised by the vast differences in safari pricing. Yes, I did find some around 2-3k pp. (Not including air, which is a significant cost.) These basic safaris have drawbacks. For example: ➡️ Tent camping ➡️ No toilets/showers ➡️ Long travel times (think 6+ hours per day) ➡️ Cramped safari vehicle ➡️ Short game drives due to time constraints Most travelers aren’t okay with this, but it’s an option. If you prefer the following, I would love to plan your safari. ➡️ Private safari ➡️ Game drives in private concessions ➡️ Game viewing activities such as walking, horseback, night game drives etc ➡️Private plunge pool ➡️Butler service ➡️ Top tier dining ➡️Eco friendly accommodations And more.. then follow along for more safari content There is an endless array of upgrades to a safari and because for many people a safari is a once in lifetime experience, you deserve the best service and stays in the safari industry. And there’s so much more I could add to this reel. Botswana is a gem for safari and probably best suits those who are only planning on visiting Africa for safari one time or as a step up from some of the entry level safari destinations. Honestly it’s hard to skip one destination for another because they all have unique characteristics but I would say Botswana is going to offer an experience that is more raw and untouched vs. other safari destinations (but only if you choose to visit the conservancies vs public parks). For Botswana you need an expert planner because if you want to do both Kalahari salt pans and the Okavango Delta, you’ll need inland flights etc. Please comment below with any Botswana questions or DM me.
