One of my favorite things about going to a new country is checking out the food scene.

These markets in Belize did not disappoint. I bought a custard apple, spices and the last soursop.

In San Ignacio the market also includes vendors who cook and you can have made to order meals like pupusas 😋

It’s worth noting that US dollars are widely accepted in Belize, they will give you change back in Belizean dollars. 2 Belizean dollars =1 US dollar

Spring flings aren’t just about romance. Sometimes they’re about falling in love with a place.

You know the feeling. That moment when you step off the plane, take a deep breath, and instantly know — this place is special. Maybe it’s the way the sun hits the water, the charm of a little café tucked on a quiet street, or the way the locals make you feel like you belong.

For me, the starting place was Arusha. One visit, and I was hooked. I found myself daydreaming about it long after I’d unpacked my bags. For me it was the feeling of seeing the first giraffe in the wild, and then the first elephant, pacing the river bank. It was a flood of emotions, the spirit of an animal in its native habitat. It was an unforgettable trip from one park to another, admiring the beautiful birds to the black and white colobus monkeys swinging from tree to tree. An investment in travel is something I will always encourage others to invest in.

This is why you can’t get out of your safari jeep…you’ll end up being lunch. Jokes aside, it’s truly for your personal safety and violating this can get you in serious trouble.

Even in the dry season, or with shorter grass, these wild animals blend in seamlessly.

And if you really want to get away the crowds, Ruaha Is where it’s at. This is where I took this photo.

Spring is when nature shows off, and some places take it to a whole new level.

Think cherry blossoms so stunning they don’t look real, tulip fields that stretch for miles, and hidden spots where spring flowers steal the show.

🌷 Amsterdam & Keukenhof, Netherlands – Tulip season is legendary here, but there’s a difference between seeing the flowers and experiencing them. I arrange private bike rides through the fields, VIP Keukenhof access, and the best boutique stays away from the crowds.

🌼 Washington, D.C., USA – The National Cherry Blossom Festival is stunning, but if you want picture-perfect views without the tourist chaos, location and timing are key. I help my clients score the best spots, from festival events to exclusive hotels near the Tidal Basin.

🌺 Provence, France – Spring in Provence means rolling fields of wildflowers, early lavender blooms, and the most scenic vineyard road trips. Add in boutique stays and incredible food, and it’s a spring dream done right.

These springtime moments don’t last long so prepping ahead of time is key. It’s not too late to lock in an adventure for this year, or if you want in for 2026, let’s get it locked in now. I personally recommend locking in for 2026 unless your dates are flexible and you have a healthy budget, this way you can lock in your price (because prices are bound to increase for 2026) and get the best availability.

The most common mistakes travelers make — from a travel advisor who books dozens of trips a year.👇

I’ve seen it all, from canceled flights that leave people stranded to fighting food poisoning on the other side of the world.

But these are the most common mistakes I see travelers making:

➡️ Packing way too much and then dealing with lugging heavy luggage all over the place. Also packing the wrong type of bag. Some specific flights don't allow hard shell baggage, again, I would inform you of this before you travel.

➡️ Skipping travel insurance because ‘nothing will happen‘ (until it does😬. Or buying travel insurance that doesn't really cover what's in your best interests. I have my own personal favorite travel insurance that I also recommend when planning trips for clients.

➡️ Booking connecting flights that leave you with just minutes to sprint between gates.

➡️ Choosing the cheapest deal and realizing they have the lowest room category and the worst flight option. Who wants to have a night time 10 hour layover? Yeah, me neither. I make sure you get the most optimal flights so you have enough time between flights but not countless hours that waste your time. And, really this is where the expertise comes in, depending on location the time needed between flights can vary drastically.

My job? To make sure that none of these happen to you.

Three Caribbean islands you’ll LOVE other than Jamaica 👇

Jamaica gets a lot of love (and for good reason), but if you’ve been before and you’re ready to explore a little deeper to some of the smaller islands, here are three I’m currently planning trips to for clients:

🏝️ Saint Lucia – Think lush rainforests, dramatic volcanic peaks, and the iconic Pitons. This island is made for couples who want romance and adventure. You can hike Gros Piton for epic views, then cool off in a private plunge pool with the ocean as your backdrop. It’s the perfect mix of thrill and chill. I love Saint Lucia because you can get a similar experience to Hawaii without the long flight and it's just as beautiful.

🏝️ Grenada – Sure, it’s called the Spice Isle, but Grenada is full of surprises. The underwater sculpture park? A total must for snorkelers and divers. And if you’re a foodie, you’ll love visiting a local chocolate estate or sipping rum straight from the source at a distillery. This island has flavor in every sense of the word.

🏝️ Barbados – Yes, the pink-sand beaches are dreamy, but there’s so much more to love here. From luxury catamaran cruises to secret coves only the locals know, this island nails that blend of elegance and authenticity. And let’s not forget—it gave us Rihanna. Enough said.

Every island in the Caribbean has its own unique experiences and if you ask me, that just means more excuses to book trips.

Mexico is so much more than Cancun!

Isla Mujeres
🌴 Postcard-perfect beaches without the crowds
Just a 20-minute ferry ride from Cancun, Isla Mujeres feels like a hidden gem. Think crystal-clear water at Playa Norte, vibrant local charm, and epic snorkeling with colorful marine life. It’s a quiet escape where time slows down, and yes, you can still sip margaritas by the beach.

Holbox
🏝️ This tiny island feels like a secret slice of paradise.
Holbox is where I send clients who want untouched beauty and a slower pace. No cars, just sandy streets, boutique hotels, and flamingos casually hanging out on the shore. Plus, the bioluminescent waters at night? Total bucket list material.

Playa del Carmen
☀️A little more action, but with a local twist.
Playa del Carmen is all about variety. Stroll Quinta Avenida for vibrant restaurants and shops, or head to quieter beaches just outside the main area. I always recommend a day trip to Cozumel for incredible snorkeling or diving, it’s just a ferry ride away.

Saying yes to everything 2025 has to offer:

✅ A spontaneous flight to somewhere unforgettable - YES

✅ Morning coffee watching the early morning sun over the Indian ocean on a beautiful island - YES

✅Gorilla trekking in Rwanda- HECK YES! Ok this might be a stretch but I am adventurous and love bucket list experiences. P.S. If you would like to do this, the permits should be booked a minimum of 6-9 months in advance as there are very limited permits per day

2025 can and SHOULD be the year you say yes to more of the things you’ve always wanted to do and since my brain thinks in travel my mind immediately goes to hopping on planes and taking trips.

So this is me nudging you to say yes to travel too!

Whether that’s finally touching down in a destination you’ve always wanted to visit, taking a spontaneous trip to switch up the routine, or even just booking a cute hotel for a weekend trip.

Here’s the problem with booking the cheapest vacation package 👇

It feels like a win, right? Knowing you’re finally making those travel goals come true without breaking the bank. (Trust me, it's usually NOT in your best interest. Read the fine print.)

But what happens when the cheapest package means arriving at your resort too late and losing one whole vacation day or includes the resort that’s a two hour drive from the airport plus traffic=not the relaxing start of the vacation you were hoping for.

I recently helped one of my clients upgrade from a basic resort room to a suite with a private plunge pool for just $20 a night more.

No, that’s not a typo.

It’s the difference between looking for what’s cheapest and looking for value.

A small tweak like when you decide to go on your getaway can result in money saved and so much more value added to your getaway. My goal all year is to get you the most value for your money, not just during wave season.

It also helps to have someone with their eyes on offers and promotions that could match up with your trip, which is exactly what I do. Yes, I know its wave season and so you're likely to come across all types of promos, just make sure there's actually service behind what you're booking, which there won't be if you do it yourself. And another reason to delegate the planning to a Travel Advisor.

One of my favorite clients is embracing one of the most underrated but very necessary travel hacks of all time!

It’s only January 14 and she is already booked and counting down the days to her trip to Thailand later this year. Thailand is popular for 2025 and for good reason. Having personally traveled there, I can say the clear waters against the stunning backdrop of the bluffs is next level. Not to mention snorkeling, I saw the most colorful reefs when I was there. Add in the numbers intricate temples, exotic street food (hello crickets and roasted duck) and muay thai fights, its an epic adventure! I know she is going to love her vacation. I gave her the insights on some of the best restaurants and we collaborated to give her the most value for her money.

And yes, this is Phi Phi Island which can get crowded, but its mostly during the daytime. So we added two nights here so she can explore without all the crowds.
