23-19!! At D23 (Disney fan event) this summer we learned that Monsters Inc. Land will be coming to Walt Disney World! This exciting new addition to Hollywood Studios will feature a suspended ride recreating the door vault scene from the first Monster Inc. movie, plus dining, and shopping and a new theater show. 🚪🏭🤣🛌

We now know that Monsters Inc. Land will be constructed in Muppets Courtyard where Muppet Vision 3D currently entertains guests. The Muppets will be taking over Aerosmith’s Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster where they will “team up with music’s biggest stars for a rock music festival” in this reimagined ride.🎸🎢

🤩 I have always loved seeing (and sometimes when we were lucky, hearing the roar of) the majestic lions, Dakari and Kamari, in the savannas of Kilimanjaro Safari at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. 🌳

🦁 👑 🎥 They are the real-life inspiration for the live action version of, “The Lion King” and after delighting Disney guests for the last decade, this pair is set to enjoy their retirement “off-show.”

“It is with heartfelt emotions that we share the news of Dakari and Kamari’s retirement to a conservation haven in Florida accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. As they enter the next phase in their lives, we made this major decision with a continued focus on their wellbeing, happiness and health in mind. Kamari and Dakari have received world-class care from the animal keepers, veterinarians and the entire animal care team for many years and will be greatly missed.” ~ Dr. Mark Penning (Vice President Animals, Science, and Environment, Disney Parks)

🔄 As with the “Circle of Life”, after saying farewell to our friends, in the near future, Disney’s Animal Kingdom will proudly welcome a new pride - a group of young lion siblings, (including one male and two females) to step into the spotlight on the savannas.

These pictures of MY princesses were taken 8 years apart. I assure you, that time passed in the blink of an eye and I am so grateful for these photos (many from our Disney photo packages) to help me reminisce.📸🥹

My children are resilient and have endured heartbreaking challenges, but on our Disney vacations, including the magical moments captured here, they have received royal treatment and experiences that are among their favorite milestones and memories in their childhood. 🟡💗

These particular photos commemorate my oldest daughter's first and likely last princess makeover at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, as she will no longer be eligible when she turns 13. On our recent family vacation, I told her I was making an appointment for her sister and I assumed she was "too old" or "too cool" or "too tween/middle schooler" for an appointment and she was shocked and offended. I told her that I knew most of her friends had left their "princess phase" behind them long ago and I didn't want her to feel she HAD to participate for her father or me. She *INSISTED* that she will ALWAYS be a Disney Princess and that even when she can no longer go to BBB, she has ideas saved for "Disney Bounding" as her favorite princesses and characters. (Gee, I wonder where she gets it?! ☺️)

‼️Don't wait for the perfect time... it may never come. Life happens. Disney vacations at any age and stage create opportunities for magical moments and core memories. These and so many more will continue to be precious to me (and to my children) for our lifetime. I wish you and your family this same fulfillment and Disney delight. 🥰
