Very successful day! Caught quite a few panfish before heading out tomorrow for the opener.

They said "it's too cold for cats" at the launch in the morning. We happened to pull out our boats at the same time and I proved them wrong.

A quick stop at Lakeside Bait & Tackle for some live bait before hitting the water was the best decision made all day, other than the decision to go fishing of course.

March 2nd and we're already slamming cats. 20 fish caught in 6 hours, several over eight pounds. All fish live released.

Fall fishing is here already. Air temps in the 60's, surface temps are beginning to fall ( mid 60's up north, low 70's in the south). We finally got some rain the past week and weather seems to be trending fairly stable. Book your trip now, there's still plenty of fishing to be had before the lakes freeze up.

I haven't been taking many photos because the action has been on 🔥. 15 misses and 47 cats boated this month, every single one was over 5 # with many 10 # fish like some of these. Catfish fever will continue through September until the Walleye and Muskellunge hunting really begins.
