This was what I saw a week ago as we were flying back home— heavy hearted with the news about East TN and Western NC where I was born and raised. It’s taking me a week to process all the destruction I’ve seen in videos and pictures of the places that will never be the same. I’ve finally come here to ask for your support. From my sister that lives near all the flooding in East TN (and is an RN):
We know the owner of the bean tree café in Hartford. She did not have flood insurance. She’s had to be treated for chemical burns on her arms from the mud. The toxicity of the mud at Hartford is testing radioactive. Just received word. That’s no conspiracy. Just fact. She’s trying to rebuild after the cleanup. She’s the type of person that would have fed everybody that she could come in contact with if her restaurant was still standing.

Day 2: I ❤️ what I do— turning travel dreams into reality with the help of Ponant!

Welcome to my home and make yourself comfortable onboard Ponant
Luxury is in the details, and this ship does not disappoint. Let’s start with a spacious 215 square feet in the (entry-level) Prestige Stateroom with a balcony (the smallest staterooms onboard). Against a palate of light and dark wood accents, you’ll find a three-door wardrobe, two-room bathroom with walk-in shower, makeup table with stool, deep drawers for storage, walnut wood shelving, night tables with drawers on each side of the bed, and a private seating area (for breakfast, lunch or dinner served in your room) -- all before heading out through the sliding glass door onto the wide balcony for your own viewing pleasure of the seas and your surroundings.

But wait. . . there’s more: sustainability (Earth is our home) is at the forefront of the Ponant brand with twice daily replenished glass water bottles (sparkling and still) that you could use in your stateroom Nespresso maker or tea kettle. There are no single-use plastics in sight. And if you want more than water, your own stocked mini bar is also replenished daily with your favorites (mixers, sodas, and adult beverages).

If this weren’t enough, I need to be able to work from home as well so all the USB charging outlets and US/UK electric outlets allow me to keep my clients safe and happy. BONUS: Bluetooth Bose wireless speaker in every room too. (But I much prefer the sound of the waves crashing just outside my door.)

Why Use a Travel Advisor? Because the internet doesn’t invest in first-hand knowledge and education of the destinations that aren’t the “usual” request. For instance, do you want to see more of France than just Paris? I hopped on the train when I landed at CDG this week and two hours later I was in the north of France getting acquainted with Rennes. It won’t be my last time here— and I now have my favorite 5* hotel without the Paris 5* price. 📷
