With construction beginning in 1226 and lasting over 200 years, it is the seat of the Archbishop of Toledo, the senior Catholic prelate in . Toledo, as a UNESCO heritage site, is arguably the most significant cultural and historical place in Spain, and it's a perfect day trip from Madrid (just 1/2 hour away by rail). 🇪🇸

Unlike most of the world's capital cities, is not on an important river or coastline. Its strategic significance is solely in its position at the geographic center of . Although it's not exactly the center, it's close enough so that the Plaza Del Sol in Madrid is recognized as the point at which all roads converge. I've always been fascinated by this, and wanted to name my travel business Kilometer Zero! I was disappointed to find out it was already taken. So I decided to one-up them by adding a kilometer! 😎🥾

Recognized as the oldest restaurant in the world, the wood fueled oven has been continuously running since the beginning. What a nice touch! Waiting for me in my room at the Only YOU Hotel Atocha this afternoon! This is such a great property here in . In addition to being within walking distance of some of the city's top attractions, it's also right across from the Madrid Atocha railway station, making it so easy to get in and out of the city. Only YOU Hotels also has awesome properties in Valencia, Malaga, and Seville! 🇪🇸
