In January we found out that we were selected to participate in the Heimer Hampshires acHHiever program. This week, we took a few days and traveled down to Taylor, MO where we stayed with the Heimer family and selected a handful of gilts to bring home and incorporate into our herd.

Thank you to Jesse, Amy, Max and Harper for hosting us! We had a great time visiting and learning from you. We also can't wait to see what these females can do for our customers!

2016-17 ACHHIEVER ANNOUNCED!
Kevin Clark, Byron, MI

Kevin and his wife, Beth, of Byron, Michigan were brought together by a love of livestock and passion for this industry. Kevin says, “Everything we do, we do as a true partnership. We are about doing what we love together, and positively impacting as many youth as we can along the way. We see the acHHieve program as an opportunity for us to strengthen our relationship with each other, others in the show pig industry, and the kids that we serve.”

Kevin received his degree in Swine Management from Michigan State University, and while at MSU, worked at the Swine Teaching and Research Unit. Currently, Kevin is employed full-time with Beck’s Hybrids and, in his spare time, coaches a high school wrestling team.

Kevin and Beth both have strong backgrounds in production agriculture. They are passionate about animal husbandry and are continually trying to improve themselves and their operation. Through trial and error, the couple has found what works and are always making changes to improve what they do from an efficiency and operations standpoint.

Like many who apply for the acHHieve program, Kevin and Beth are looking to learn how to more effectively market their operation and expand their client base. Kevin hopes to someday be able to manage their farm on a full-time basis and spend significantly more time focused on building True Vision Genetics.
