We are very into spirit-free drinks (obvi). Did you know that the Italians have been drinking a large variety of non-alcoholic aperitifs for a very long time? An aperitif is meant to stimulate your appetite before a (delicious) meal. My new favorite is Crodino. It's been popular in Italy since the 1960s. I'm currently making huge (hopefully clear) spherical ice cubes to have a wonderful sipping drink that isn't too sweet and makes me feel like a grownup (that's up for debate, but you have to start somewhere, right?)!

Happy World Food Day (not sure who creates these "holidays", but it gives us a chance to think about our favorite travel food memories (oh, so many)! The ones that immediately popped up for me was first, the unbelievable calamari in Mombasa, Kenya at the Tamarindo restaurant. Sitting right on the Indian ocean and the baby delights being brought endlessly like they were chips and salsa. Oh, lord they were good.
But I also can't stop thinking about the Black-n-Bleu Burger with waffle fries and house-made fry sauce in Idaho Falls Idaho at the Snakebite (check it out if you're ever in the area). Mmmmm.
