Port #4 Civitavecchia (Rome)
We hired a private driver for this port and while expensive, it was absolutely worth it. The port is a 1hr 15 min to 1 hr 30 min drive depending on traffic. And we got to see so much of the city!

- Il Vittoriano (ie, the Wedding Cake)
- Coliseum
- Vatican Museum
- St Peters Basilica
- Trevi Fountain
- Spanish Steps

The Vatican Museum was truly overwhelming. There are so many different halls of the museum - each more ornate and grandiose than the next - with so many pieces of artwork, sculptures, murals, tapestries, etc…. It was absolutely beautiful and we only truly were able to see a tiny fraction.

Four years ago, the Sistine Chapel was refreshed and the company that did the restoration now has the copyrights for another 21 years, so you aren’t allowed to take any pictures. It was amazing though to see Michelangelo’s work!

Port #3 - La Spezia (Florence & Pisa)
Florence was one of my favorites and definitely on my list for a future land visit! The city is so compact and walkable with so many sights, museums, and wonderful places to explore!

Pisa was Pisa 🤣. We wanted to include it to take our obligatory leaning tower picture but would have loved more time in Florence.

Port #2 - Marseilles, France
No planned excursions but did take a taxi from the terminal in Provence to Old Vieux Port in Marseilles. From there, we bought tickets to ride Le Petit Train around the city with a stop at Marseilles most famous landmark, Notre-Dame de La Garde.

In fact, there are 2 other leaning towers in Pisa alone and 10 throughout Italy! In an attempt to correct it's initial lean during construction, the Tower temporarily had a northern slope tilt before eventually shifting back to it's southward tilt.

Yesterday we visited Palma Mallorca. I didn’t really have a lot of things planned for this port. But Palma Mallorca pleasantly surprised me!

This month kicks off a huge Summer Travel surge! Here's where my June families are headed!

🌄 The 'M' family of 5 will be spending a few days in Las Vegas before heading out to the Grand Canyon for some hiking!
🛳 The 'D' family of 4 are spending a few days in Orlando & Port Canaveral prior to boarding their 4 night cruise onboard the Disney Wish! They are sailing in a Concierge Stateroom and we were able to score one of the coveted cabanas on Castaway Cay!
⛱ The 'V' family of 5 will be celebrating their parents 20th anniversary in Hawaii! They will be speding 3 nights in Oahu where they will be staying at Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach resort and hiking Diamond Head before heading to Maui for 5 nights at the Honua Kai Resort in Ka'anapali! I'm so excited for them to explore one of the most beautiful islands I have ever visited!
🎢 The 'K' family of 4 are headed to Disney World for their first visit! They will be staying at Boardwalk Inn - one of the my favorites hotels due to it's proximity to Epcot and Hollywood Studios!

I'm so excited for my families - they are exploring some incredible destinations!

La Sagrada Família: a must-see UNESCO World Heritage Site in Barcelona!
