Next port we’re going to visit - Grand Cayman! This beautiful place can be found on itineraries leaving from both the Gulf ports and the Southern Atlantic ports. Here, you have to take a small tender into the port. Here you will find a ome wonderful snorkeling opportunities or lounging on 7 mile beach! On our most recent visit, we chose to take a jet ski ride out to a great snorkeling spot. So much fun! With everything within walking distance from the port, it’s always fun to shop a little before getting back on the ship. If you’re one of the lucky ones, you can get an original Guy Harvey painting and have him sign it right there in his shop!

A little to the west of the DR we find Jamaica 🇯🇲. I know I say that each Island and the surrounding waters are beautiful, but that’s the Caribbean for you! 😍 And Jamaica is no different. We cruised into the port of Ocho Rios and decided to tackle Dunn River Falls. Wow. What an adventure! Well worth the climb. Great way to spend your birthday! 🥳

A little farther south, on our Eastern Caribbean cruise, is the Dominican Republic. A very interesting island. Once again plenty of beach to enjoy. Travel up through the mountains lends to beautiful views and a glance at the very unhurried lifestyle. It’s not unusual to see farmers moving herds of cattle along the dirt roads. A quick stop at a cigar dispensary shows how the hand rolled ci**rs are made. The tip of the port Amber Cove is a popular wedding spot! 💝

Our next stop is a favorite for most! St. Thomas USVI. This beautiful island is home to some of the most amazing beaches and snorkeling. It’s not uncommon to see a sea turtle or two! If you would like the Birdseye view of the island, there is a lift that will take you up the mountain to a quaint little open air bar that offers panoramic views, and a variety of frozen drinks with little umbrellas! 🍹 You can also take the ferry over to St. John and relax on some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. A must see!

Welcome to the Turks and Caicos Islands. The cruise port is stationed at Grand Turk, which was once known for it’s salt mines. A rather small island, close to 7 square miles, It is still the largest of the Turks Islands. It houses the islands Capital, Cockburn Town, and is British ruled. Wild horses roam freely. The waters that surround the island are perfect for most water activities, especially snorkeling. Plenty of beach for lounging and taking in the beautiful views. But the best view is from the air! 🚁

Next stop-Puerto Rico. This US territory has a lot of interesting places waiting to be explored. There are two Forts. Each with its own history and amazing views! We have walked along the narrow brick roads shopping and stopping to eat some of the local cuisine. 😋 You can also fly into Puerto Rico and embark on some great Southern Caribbean Cruises.
