I’ve been out of my home office this week and working on the road while in Madison, Alabama. We found a local Barnes and Noble to utilize as our “mobile office” for the day. I’m thankful for the freedom to service my clients wherever my travels may take me!

The busiest destination for my clients this month has been the domestic corporate office. While I’ve been booking dozens of leisure trips for later on in the year for my luxury clientele, it is the executive traveler that has has been on the move most in January.
The increase in corporate travel is no surprise when January is one of the most critical months of the year for large companies. With end-of-the-year report filings, first-of-the-year board meetings, and new client onboarding deadlines, my executive traveler is an important negotiator, decision maker, and mediator for many business deals across the globe.
Thanks to my worldwide network within Protravel, our last-minute booking availabilities, and my first-hand field knowledge, I am able to facilitate with excellence first-class service for those who require both domestic and international business travel.
If your organization needs an advisor to book executive business travel for your team, please feel free to contact me at [email protected] for rates and availability!
Thanks for following my adventure to Southern California last week!

While most of my time in Newport Beach was spent attending Internova Plus—an invite-only travel trade show—I did manage to learn a little about Newport Beach as a destination. Known as a luxury outlier of Los Angeles, Newport Beach features plush residential homes, beach views, fine dining, whale watching, water sports, and upscale shopping.
Located within walking distance of the prestigious Pendry hotel is Fashion Island, the city’s premier shopping mall. Filled with designer brand shops, top chef restaurants, and anchor department stores like Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdale’s, and Nordstrom, Fashion Island is a great stop on any Newport Beach itinerary!

WHAT'S IT LIKE ATTENDING A TRAVEL TRADE SHOW?
Like many industries, the global travel industry conducts several networking events throughout the year. These trade shows offer an opportunity for advisor/partner collaboration and are beneficial to the dynamic of worldwide travel.
Throughout my 25+ years working in the travel industry, I've had the opportunity to attend dozens of travel shows hosted by several leading organizations within the travel space. The trade shows are usually held on site at a prestigious host hotel and usually take place in large cities across the world. I have attended ILTM in Cannes and Mexico, Virtuoso Travel Week in Las Vegas, and the new Internova Elevate in New York City. Over the last two days, I've been attending Internova Plus held at the Pendry Hotel in Newport Beach, California.
While each travel trade show is different, most conventions usually provide 10 minute one-on-one networking sessions, which allow advisors to meet with vendors across multiple categories including hotels, tours, transportation, and destination management companies. Think tanks can also be part of the meeting along with workshops, partner collaboration, and presentations featuring latest industry trends.
As a luxury travel advisor, I am able to glean from other leaders and representatives in the industry during these travel shows and take my first-hand knowledge back home with me to better serve my clients. Because I often meet one-on-one with general managers, hotel owners, and tour company owners, I develop relationships directly in the industry and deepen my professional connections within a global network of suppliers. As a result, I am able to personally connect my clients to the best destination and property that is most suited for their tastes.

If you're looking for luxury accommodations with historic details, the US Grant Hotel is an excellent option. Here is a short video capturing my favorite highlights of this beautiful property.

Here’s the answer to yesterday’s San Diego Travel Trivia question!
The US Grant is the hotel in San Diego named after the 18th President of the United States, Ulysses S Grant. The luxury hotel was commissioned by Grant’s son in honor of his father’s legacy. It opened its doors in 1910 and remains on the US National Register of Historic Places.

On our second day on the ground in San Diego, we enjoyed a five-hour driving tour of the area with a private guide. Our sightseeing included many local highlights including La Jolla Cove, Old Town, Balboa Park, Coronado, Mission Beach, and Embarcadero Marina Park.
One of our favorite views was taken from the lookout at the Mt. Soledad Veterans Museum Park. This vantage point offers beautiful vistas of the southern San Diego metropolis, the US border with Mexico, and Tijuana.

Extremely unique and fun experience. We had the entire experience alone with the caretakers.

A unique opportunity offered with the Exclusive VIP package!

Our VIP experience at the San Diego Zoo was incredible! In addition to having a private tour of the zoo with a knowledgeable guide, we also had behind-the-scenes access to employee-only views, interviews with animal care specialists, and feeding opportunities not available to the general public. This was a lifetime experience for us, and one I will remember for many years to come.
The current trend in the travel industry is curated, unique experiences that go above and beyond expectations. As a travel advisor, I endeavor to cultivate first-hand knowledge of the industry’s best well kept secrets and present fresh inspiration to my clients. After yesterday’s VIP experience at the zoo, I can fully recommend this package as an exciting travel opportunity for families, couples, multi-generational trips, incentive groups, animal enthusiasts, and conservationists. It’s also perfect to add to the itinerary of a weekend getaway to San Diego.

During my trip to the nation’s capital this week, I had the opportunity to experience the Sofitel Washington DC. Located in the heart of the city within walking distance of all attractions, this property offers great dining, French flair, and affordable pricing. I definitely recommend considering the Sofitel on your next DC trip!

While in Miami, I had the opportunity to experience the Palms Hotel and Spa. Beautifully decorated in art deco style, this hotel offers direct beach access, great pool and service, excellent on-site dining, full Aveda spa, and laid back atmosphere. If your vacation plans take you through Miami, the Palms is a city staple here in the Magic City.

What’s a trip to Miami without an excursion into Little Havana? During our visit, we tried authentic Cuban cuisine at the iconic Versailles restaurant.

It’s been several years since I’ve been to Miami. Enjoyed taking a double decker tour bus last night and this afternoon to re-orient myself with the city. The sunset last night was beautiful!

My review of the Fairmont Mayakoba
30/06/2023
After having visited five properties on this trip, I can say that the Fairmont Mayakoba is hands down my preferred luxury resort to recommend to clients traveling to Cancun. I found it to be the best in quality, cleanliness, service, food, amenities, beach, and presentation.
If you're wanting to plan a quick trip south of the border for you, your family, your business colleagues, or your friends, contact me today to book your luxury resort getaway at the Fairmont Mayakoba or any of the other Mayakoba properties!
My favorite feature of the Fairmont Myakoba was the abundant choice of swimming pools! There are about 10 pools on site in addition to several ocean front plunge pool suites. This expansive use of pools provides lots of private spaces all throughout the property.
29/06/2023
One of the unique aspects of the Mayakoba region is its diverse ecosystems! Within walking distance are natural canals, rainforest, beach, ocean, and mangroves. Our hotel room overlooked one of the canals where we could watch for different wildlife throughout the day. We saw several tropical birds, turtles, and even a monkey!
29/06/2023
After visiting several properties in Cancun on this trip, I discovered the Fairmont Mayakoba has about the cleanest stretch of beach. Unfortunately, Cancun has had some problems with seaweed in recent years, which has downgraded many of the local and resort beaches. Attempts by a few properties are being done to help keep the seaweed offshore.
I found that the Fairmont Mayakoba has recently built a cement barrier around their beach area and added some nets to catch the surplus seaweed. These efforts have greatly helped curb the problem and are keeping the property beaches clean.
If you’re looking for a pristine beach location with sparkling waters, Cancun may not be the best choice for you. However, if you’re looking for an easily accessible beach destination, resort swimming pools, and lots of excursions, Fairmont Mayakoba and the surrounding luxury resorts in the Mayakoba area are my top recommendations for Cancun.

My review on the Waldorf Astoria Cancun
22/06/2023
The Waldorf Astoria Cancun has two beautiful infinity pools surrounded by palm trees, plants, lounge chairs, and cabanas. If you're a Waldorf Astoria enthusiast, then this serene and modern location on the Cancun coast may be a good fit for you!
22/06/2023
I've spent the last few days experiencing the Waldorf Astoria here in Cancun. This is a beautiful property with a modern minimalistic aesthetic. For brand loyalists of the Waldorf properties, this location in Cancun may be a good place for your next summer holiday.

One of our favorite treats to enjoy during any visit to a tropical destination is a cold fruit smoothie. Who else craves these things on a hot day? (Pictured here is a pineapple orange smoothie my wife and I split one day in Maui.)
