Today marks Winter Solstice, the shortest day and longest night of the year. Here in Alaska, the contrast is especially dramatic. In Anchorage, we’ll get just 5 hours and 28 minutes of daylight, while parts of the state, like Utqiaġvik, have been in total darkness since November 🌚 (don’t worry, the sun returns in January!).

Whether you’re a local or dreaming of a visit, we hope you’re soaking up the unique beauty this time of year offers. Here’s to more light ahead! 🌞✨

Last week, Co-Owner Carissa Larson had the honor of participating in a panel discussion at the Bristol Bay Leadership Forum, sharing our experience as finalists in the Bristol Bay Marketplace Business Plan Competition. This incredible program, a collaboration between Bristol Bay Native Corporation and McKinley Alaska Growth Capital (MAGC), supports Indigenous entrepreneurs starting or expanding their businesses.

We’re so grateful for the opportunity to connect with other Indigenous entrepreneurs and to receive technical support from MAGC. It was especially inspiring to speak alongside Iluperaq and Yup’ik Girl Seafood – what a privilege to share a stage with fellow Alaska Native women business owners. Thank you to everyone for making this possible! ✨
