Come and enjoy the island on this adults-only Cozumel East Side Beaches and Cantina Bar Hop Excursion. This excursion of the beach bars on the east side of the island takes you to some that are well-known landmark spots plus some hidden gems. Marvel at the blues and turquoises of the ocean and the cool white sands. After meeting your guide close to your Cozumel cruise terminal, you will start your
adventure at the Tequila Factory as you are heading across the town. This is a replica and not a working factory because, for a liquor to be called "Tequila", it must be made in the northwestern state of Jalisco. Sample and learn about the 5 main types of tequila made from the blue agave plant. You can purchase a bottle home to celebrate your time in Mexico! Your guide will keep you entertained along the way and your thirst will be quenched with the complimentary bottled water and beer on board. Next, your transportation will head across the island to famous "wild side" of the island and your first stop at Mezcalitos, one of Cozumel’s original beach bars and an institution on the island. This 20 minute stop gives you your first look at the windward side of the islands waters and beaches. There is no electricity on this side of the island and you will only find a handful quaint little beachside bars and spots to eat...no neon lights, no big crowds, and no resorts. You are welcome to purchase an adult beverage, sit in a hammock and stick your toes in the sand. Please note that getting into the water may not be allowed depending on the water and rip tide conditions that day - your guide will advise you. Please bring CASH for any beverage or food purchases as credit cards are not accepted anywhere. Your second stop is the highest point on the island at a whopping 41 feet above sea level at the legendary Coconut’s Bar and Grill. This popular hangout with its quirky decor is accessible by steps cut out of the natural coral rock. Buy one of the best mojitos you can find on the island or another selection off the bar menu and soak in the amazing views. Coconut's has many rescue animals that live on site who are almost as famous as the guacamole! You will make your way down the steps and into your transportation before continuing towards the south end of the island to your next stop. Traveling along the coast you’ll have a 30 minute stop at Welcome to Miami beach bar. At this tiny little gem, located right at the water's edge, you will enjoy a welcome drink and complimentary pico de gallo (yummy salsa) and chips. Relax to the sounds of the waves and by all means, you may purchase a beer or other beverage. You will pile into your transportation, and if these 3 fun beach bars were not enough fun, there is one more treat in store for you. Sit back and enjoy the cantina music at this very clean, well-run establishment where the number of women patrons equal men. You can grab a table in the shaded garden area and enjoy the ambiance. Chendo's serves complimentary delicious botana or snacks like fish ceviche, conch, empanadas, seasoned potatoes, chips, salsa or several other local and regional favorites such as sliced cucumber with lime and habanero chile or a traditional Mayan dip called "sikil pak" which is made with ground pumpkin seeds...delicious! You are welcome to purchase a few cold beers to wash it all down with. With every round of drinks ordered, a variety of botana on small plates are placed on the table along with toothpicks to be nibbled on and enjoyed by the table family-style. Depending on the time you arrive, you can enjoy the mariachis playing favorites live on site. You will get a real "local" wrap-up to your day. Please note that all locations also offer soft drinks and bottled water for those in your group who want to participate but do not drink alcohol. At the end of your bar and cantina hop around the island, your guide will take you back to your meeting point by your Cozumel cruise terminal. We hope you take home some spectacular photos and great memories. Salud!
