Bonefish are one of the most fun saltwater targets you can find. Watching them eat and hearing your reel sing will quickly raise your flyfishing addiction level! The flats surrounding Andros Island are some of the best bone fishing in the world. The fish are plentiful and average 3 to 5 pounds with regular appearances of fish 6 to 10 pounds. Several 11, 12 and 13 pound fish are landed every season; many within view of the lodge. If you have never done a saltwater trip these plentiful flats are a great place to start. If you are a veteran, hunting larger bonefish in these legendary waters will take you to the next level.
Double occupancy accommodations include a spacious room with sitting area and large bathroom which opens to your own patio overlooking the ocean. Their culinary team prepares seafood caught daily and offers a wide variety of options for every meal. Fresh roasted coffee and tea are delivered to your door each morning. A multitude of hot and cold breakfast options await your custom order.
You’ll load your boat each morning from the dock outside our bungalows. Mangrove Cay Club is located on the north shore of Mangrove Cay. This location was chosen for the lodge to allow access to mile after mile of prime bonefish water without ever having to trailer a boat or take a rough boat ride in the open ocean. Walk out of the lodge, load your flats boat and you’ll have access to all of the waters of the Bights, the eastern flats and the remote and legendary West Side. This location is prime because of the way the tides fall. When the tide is high on the west side, it is low on the east side; meaning you always have prime fishing!

Your Patagonia fishing trip will begin at El Encuentro lodge on the banks of the Rio Futaleufu (also referred to as the Rio Grande) situated at the base of the Andes and across the river from a beautiful national park. Anglers will have their choice to float the big waters of the Futaleufu that hold healthy rainbow and brown trout, or they may walk wade the Rio Corinto, Rio Percey the Rio Nanty Fall or the Rio Techa. Trophy lake fishing is available at Lago Futalaufquen, and Laguna Larga. Their guides know all the various side channels and locations of deep pools that hold fish; they know where to encourage guests to wade fish and how to best reach large browns under
hidden banks. Private waters are also available; the team will assure you find what you are looking for in an Argentine experience.
We will then fish our way north to Los Alceres National Park and have another fine reception and dinner at Valle Del Carrileufu lodge. Fishing here includes several options to choose from! If you prefer float trips you can fish the Rio Carrileufu, the Rio Rivadavia, the Rio Arrayanes or the Rio Chubut. Wade fishing on the Rivadavia (spring creek) is also a great option. You can hunt large rainbows and browns at Lago Cholila, Rivadavia, Verde or Laguna Eduardo. These are prime summer dates so you will fish big dry fly patterns or utilize your nymph and streamer expertise.
Carrileufu Valley Lodge will give you the opportunity to see a significant portion of western side of the Chubut province with some breathtaking views and places. Carrileufu is located in the northern entrance to Los Alerces National Park, an area protected by the UNESCO organization and a World Heritage Site. Like our Redwood and Sequoias, the Alerce tree (the second longest living tree species in the world) is protected and only grows in this area. Some of these trees are over 2000 years old. Majestic mountains with glaciers formed these valleys resulting in crystal clear water -making every lake and river a perfect spot for sight fishing. Big Horn Women's Trip
May 10-14, 2025
Are you itching for summer fishing every year? Thermopolis, Wyoming and the Big Horn river are another hidden gem. When other locations are still looking at run off and snow, average temps in May are 71 degrees at an elevation of 4,331. Historically speaking, this tailwater (below Boysen reservoir) offers some great nymph and streamer fishing in the morning and dry fly fishing in the afternoon during mid-May. The browns, rainbows and cutthroat average 16-19” and the red rocks along the river are a beautiful back drop.
Your package includes four nights lodging, three days of guided fishing, all meals and beer/wine with dinner. Arrive in Thermopolis in time for dinner with the group on the 10th and we’ll have the recent fishing reports in hand and plans to share with you for the next day.
Our lodging will be in two homes along the river. Sit on the deck, partake in the hot tub, venture over to the local hot springs or do some walking through this small town before or after the fishing. Washer and dryer are available at both locations so you can pack light and fish hard. Come and fish the legendary Green River near Pinedale, Wyoming with us! We’ll have access to some incredible fishing and this area is one of the best kept secrets around. Some huge browns and rainbows hide in these waters and this time of year they are taking the food in. Golden Stones, Salmon Fly's, PMD’s, and Gray Drakes! In addition to the Green, we'll fish the New Fork river and have options to fish lakes in the area for Grayling or trout. There are plenty of Moose, Deer, and great bird watching as you float each day. You’ll find a ton of fish 16”-20” and the 20”+ fish are not unusual on the Green. This is prime time to be on this stretch of river!

Mexico Women's Trip

We’re incredibly honored and excited to host a women’s saltwater trip at Kay Fly Fishing Lodge with Lily Bertrum and Jose Ucan. Their lodge is located in Punta Allen, within the Sian Ka’an Biosphere on the edge of the Great Mayan Reef, the second largest barrier reef in the world. We’ll be targeting Bonefish, Tarpon, Permit, and Snook. Jacks, Barracuda, Snapper and other species are also cruising the flats. Recent groups have included a few first permit each week -along with the obligatory first scorpion party. Joan followed up her first permit with a slam in 2025.
This is truly a family owned and operated lodge offering an authentic experience. Lily and Jose are onsite with their team of local guides and cooks. Breakfast options include eggs, meats, fruit and the traditional Huevos Rancheros. Your lunch includes sandwiches, chips, fruit and plenty of water, sodas or a couple of beers. Local chefs strive to offer seafood or Mexican dinners that will allow you to experience authentic flavors while you are in Mexico. Boats go out most days with both a head guide and an apprentice guide (with two anglers). Most of Kay Fly’s head guides have been with them over 10 years -all over 5 years. Most apprentice guides at least 5 years. If you are new to saltwater, having two guides on the boat presents a great opportunity to learn, laugh and grow in your flyfishing.
The Sian Ka’an Biosphere offers the chance to see 325 species of birds, four species of turtles, dolphins, manatee’s and an abundance of other wildlife. The Henry’s Fork is a bucket list river and we’ll spend three days fishing the heart of it from Island Park, Idaho. Our guides fish nine sections of the Henry’s Fork including the world famous section known as ‘The Ranch’. Whether you like technical dry fly fishing or you are new to the game, there is something for you. We’ll match you with like minded anglers and place each pair on water that fits your goals for the trip.
August dates bring out the terrestrials in addition to Tricos, Caddis and PMD’s. It is a beautiful time; warm summer days and nights, the sounds and sights of wildlife on the river and near our cabin. Eagles and Osprey, Herons and Cranes all make regular appearances. Past river appearances also include Mouse, Deer, Elk and even Bear!
We'll start the weekend with a group casting lesson with Millie Paini then head to our private accomodations for happy your. Single or double occupancy space is available.
