We’re honored and excited to host another women’s saltwater trip at Kay Fly Fishing Lodge with Lily Bertrum and Jose Ucan. We had an incredible trip in 2024 with 13 permit to hand during our women's week. Their experienced guide team works hard to put you on your target. With two guides per boat you'll have the opportunity to learn from great anglers and have a solid team spot Permit, Bones, Tarpon, Snook, Jacks and more. Seeing them is so key..... they'll give you every effort to see it, make the cast and make it happen.
Their lodge is located in Punta Allen, within the Sian Ka’an Biosphere on the edge of the Great Mayan Reef, the second largest barrier reef in the world. We’ll be targeting Bonefish, Tarpon, Permit, and Snook. Jacks, Barracuda, Snapper and other species are also cruising the flats. The migratory Tarpon are rarely in the area at this time but there are solid numbers of the ‘big 3’, (Baby Tarpon, Permit and Bones) are in the area for those who are looking for an opportunity to slam. If you are new to saltwater flyfishing you'll have plenty of shots in Ascension Bay.
Breakfast options include eggs, meats, fruit and the traditional Huevos Rancheros. Your lunch includes sandwiches, chips, fruit and plenty of water, sodas or a couple of beers. Local chefs strive to offer seafood or Mexican dinners that will allow you to experience authentic flavors while you are in Mexico. Most of Kay Fly’s head guides have been with them over 10 years -all over 5 years. Most apprentice guides at least 5 years.
The Sian Ka’an Biosphere offers the chance to see 325 species of birds, four species of turtles, dolphins, manatee’s and an abundance of other wildlife. Anglers from around the world have been astounded and charmed by the spectacular and unspoiled rain forest surroundings and the ultimate fly-fishing experience of sight-fishing for Peacock Bass at Agua Boa lodge. 20 different species of fish on the fly have been landed here, with different species of Peacock Bass being the prime target. Pirarucu, Piranha, Aruana, and Pacu are also plentiful.
The Agua Boa is the only fly-fishing only stretch of river in Brazil. This coveted designation was granted after lengthy negotiations with the regional government and allows the lodge to provide quality fishing throughout the season. All fishing is done with single, barbless hooks. When at normal levels, the water is so clear, that most strikes are visible and a good percentage of your days will be spent sight fishing. It should be noted, however, that the sight fishing opportunities are dependent on light and water levels.
In addition to the fishing, you’ll have a chance to see tapir, giant Amazon river otters, howler monkeys, capuchin monkeys, soldier storks, macaws, parrots, toucans, etc. This is a spectacular jungle experience – the river itself is an aquarium. Green River (WY) Women's Trip

Come and fish the legendary Green River near Pinedale, Wyoming with us! We’ll have access to some incredible fishing and this area is one of the best kept secrets around. Some huge browns and rainbows hide in these waters and this time of year they are taking the food in. Golden Stones, Salmon Fly's, PMD’s, and Gray Drakes! In addition to the Green, we'll fish the New Fork river and have options to fish lakes in the area for Grayling or trout. There are plenty of Moose, Deer, and great bird watching as you float each day. You’ll find a ton of fish 16”-20” and the 20”+ fish are not unusual on the Green. This is prime time to be on this stretch of river!
Your package includes four nights lodging and three days of guided fishing. All meals and beer/wine with dinner. Arrive in Pinedale in time for dinner with the group on the 21st. Golden Dorado
December 28-January 2, 2026
The lodge is located on a high bank of the Parana river –surrounded by the jungle that separates Argentina and Paraguay. This part of the river includes more clear water fishing than other sections. Casting to Dorado in this circumstance is much like casting to Bonefish –and you often see the take! Dorado average 6-8 pounds although anglers do find much larger fish in the region. A few in the 30-40 lb range have been taken. There are also great opportunities to fish for Pira Pita and Pacu with dry fly action.

This trip can be combined with the Argentina trout trip or done solo. PM for more details.

Women who have paid the entry fee and who are the subject of the photo are eligible to enter. The subject of all photos should include women or a fish caught or fly used by the woman entering the contest. The photographer can be a man or a woman, but the subject and the person entering the contest must include a woman. For example, if you are woman and your guide or fishing buddy (male or female) takes the photo, then you are welcome to submit the photo as your entry, since you are the subject of the photo. If you submit the photo and it wasn’t taken by you, photo credit should be given to whomever took the photo in your submission. As the contestant who paid the entry fees, however, you will be eligible to receive a prize if you win in your category.
One you’ve registered via the website you will then be invited to the photo contest Facebook group to upload your photos.
Categories for Submission and Judging:
*Warm water fish caught by a woman
*Cold water fish caught by a woman
*Saltwater fish caught by a woman
*Best group fly fishing photo featuring women anglers
*Best buddy photo featuring women (may include pets)

Silver Creek, Wood and Salmon River

Join us for two days of walk-wade on Silver Creek, the Wood River, Copper Basin and other waters near Sun Valley, ID. The Wood River and Silver Creek are world renown fisheries right in the heart of the ‘Valley’. Other area options also include the Salmon River in the Sawtooth Mountain Range or into Copper Basin, home of the tributaries to the Lost River and the headwaters of the Lost River itself. We'll then spend a day floating the Salmon River.

Big Horn Women's Trip
May 10-14, 2025
Are you itching for summer fishing every year? Thermopolis, Wyoming and the Big Horn river are another hidden gem. When other locations are still looking at run off and snow, average temps in May are 71 degrees at an elevation of 4,331. Historically speaking, this tailwater (below Boysen reservoir) offers some great nymph and streamer fishing in the morning and dry fly fishing in the afternoon during mid-May. The browns, rainbows and cutthroat average 16-19” and the red rocks along the river are a beautiful back drop.
Your package includes four nights lodging, three days of guided fishing, all meals and beer/wine with dinner. Arrive in Thermopolis in time for dinner with the group on the 10th and we’ll have the recent fishing reports in hand and plans to share with you for the next day.
Our lodging will be in two homes along the river. Sit on the deck, partake in the hot tub, venture over to the local hot springs or do some walking through this small town before or after the fishing. Washer and dryer are available at both locations so you can pack light and fish hard. An amazing caterer will help us with delicious breakfasts and dinners and lunch will be on the river.

Argentina Women's Trip
January 3-10, 2026
Your Patagonia fishing trip will begin at El Encuentro lodge on the banks of the Rio Futaleufu (also referred to as the Rio Grande) situated at the base of the Andes and across the river from a
beautiful national park. Anglers will have their choice to float the big waters of the Futaleufu that hold healthy rainbow and brown trout, or they may walk wade the Rio Corinto, Rio Percey the Rio Nanty Fall or the Rio Techa. Trophy lake fishing is available at Lago Futalaufquen, and Laguna
Larga. Their guides know all the various side channels and locations of deep pools that hold fish; they know where to encourage guests to wade fish and how to best reach large browns under
hidden banks. Private waters are also available; the team will assure you find what you are looking for in an Argentine experience.
The El Encuentro lodge has been owned and operated by the Beale family and their bi-lingual team for more than 30 years. We’ll experience Argentine culture with local wines offered daily at lunch and dinner, lamb and beef from local family markets, organic vegetables from their gardens and eggs from their own chickens. We’ll savor the authentic flavors of a traditional ‘Asado’ (Argentine BBQ) on the banks of the lovely Rio Futaleufu and a Tango demonstration and lesson will also be shared one evening after dinner.
We will then fish our way north to Los Alceres National Park and have another fine reception and dinner at Valle Del Carrileufu lodge. Fishing here includes several options to choose from! If you prefer float trips you can fish the Rio Carrileufu, the Rio Rivadavia, the Rio Arrayanes or the Rio Chubut. Wade fishing on the Rivadavia (spring creek) is also a great option. You can hunt large rainbows and browns at Lago Cholila, Rivadavia, Verde or Laguna Eduardo. These are prime summer dates so you will fish big dry fly patterns or utilize your nymph and streamer expertise.
Carrileufu Valley Lodge will give you the opportunity to see a significant portion of western side of the Chubut province with some breathtaking views and places. Carrileufu is located in the northern entrance to Los Alerces National Park, an area protected by the UNESCO organization and a World Heritage Site. Like our Redwood and Sequoias, the Alerce tree (the second longest living tree species in the world) is protected and only grows in this area. Some of these trees are over 2000 years old. Majestic mountains with glaciers formed these valleys resulting in crystal clear water -making every lake and river a perfect spot for sight fishing. You’ll watch the healthy and abundant trout cruising the rivers, pools and lake shores.
Great habitat to many bird species and other wildlife, and right in the transition between the Patagonian Steps and Valdivian Forest, you have chances to see an even greater variety of flora and fauna. This trip will give you a spectacular peek into the Patagonian forests, fishing and breath taking Andes mountains.
