A very full day on the Danube! Started with a tour and wine tasting with a local winery in Durnstein, cruised the beautiful Wachau Valley with the grapevines in their winter slumber, on to Melk for an evening visit to Melk Abbey, and then visited by Santa Claus and Christmas Carols with the crew! 🥰❤️🎄⛄️❄️🎅

My morning started with a ship review of the Virgin Voyage’s Scarlet Lady. The Scarlet Lady and the Nieuw Statendam ship reviews and the Blue Lagoon Cruise’s ship and cruise review will be posted this week after I’ve had time to put them together! Have a blessed evening! One more flight to get home to my pups and my bed! 😁💕 And sweet kisses to my grandson tomorrow morning!

Day 7 Fiji. Time to say goodbye (for now) to new friends from Australia and California, and a see you soon to my roommate and dear friend, Wilma! I appreciate her ability to share the Fijian history and language with me! Until our next travel adventure!

Day 6 Fiji. We had a full day with a visit to an island high school, a visit from a young marine biologist to talk about manta rays, a beach afternoon, amazing views, and a perfect final sun set!

Day 5 Fiji (posted day 7) was an amazing day that we visited the beautiful Sawa-I-Lau Caves. We snorkeled a cave with daylight, and a cave in darkness. The experience was fascinating! This is just a taste of the scenery!

Day 4 Fiji (posted on day 6 due to spotty WiFi), another lovely morning in Fiji! Today the ship tied up to coconut trees and had fabulous beach time on Nanuya Island! Snorkeling, volleyball, swimming, kayaking, and paddle boarding (Wilma Stuart did quite well) were available. This was the opportunity that people had to “jump ship” into the water! This evening our beach dinner was moved on board due to rain. The Matacawalevu Village came onboard to welcome us rather than doing so on the island. Their voices were amazing as they shared their history in song. A full version will be posted to YouTube as I do my complete review once returning home!

As expected, WiFi in Fiji is spotty if even that good! Having a fabulous time with excellent crew, meet the young men from Malamala Beach Club where we spent our morning before boarding the Fiji Princess yesterday!

It’s been a long day and a half of flights and I’m finally in Fiji! My friend from New Zealand, Wilma Stuart, grew up in Fiji and is joining me for the cruise! We are both longing for the day on Malamala Beach Club under a shady umbrella for a nap on the beach! We spend a half day at Malamala, a private island owned by Blue Lagoon Cruises! We are celebrating our arrival with a Rainforest Fever and a nice breakfast!

Did you know that 1/3 of the Netherlands is below sea level! Windmills have been used since the 1300s for pumping water out of the lowlands and back into the rivers beyond the dikes so that the land could be farmed! Watching them in action, priceless!
