Timeless Rail Expeditions

On May 17th, 2024 we hosted a special event at the Rochester & Genesee Valley Railroad Museum that raised funds for the museum and debuted recently donated Livonia, Avon, and Lakeville ALCO S-2 #72 in an operational state. Despite challenging weather, the museum remained flexible with us as we changed our plans and made the most of the evening that successfully recreated the LA&L Railroad of yesteryear.

We would like to thank each individual who purchased tickets to come to the event, which allowed us to raise funds benefitting the R&GV museum. Our loyal customer base is what allows us to re-create the past and provide “timeless” expeditions for every attendee, and your contribution and attendance allows us to make a difference for organizations like R&GV. We would also like to thank Steve Barry, Mike Burkhart, and John Regan for graciously providing lighting for and running the night photo shoot, rounding out the evening.

We would like to finally extend our thanks to the R&GV museum for their willingness to work with us and help us host the event, as well as their efforts to get #72 operational mere hours before the event start time. Our thanks also goes out to museum president Otto Vondrak and every R&GV volunteer who staffed our train and made our day possible. Each volunteer puts hours into maintaining equipment and the museum grounds, as well as operating trains throughout the year to teach each passing generation the history of New York Railroads. Come see this beautiful ALCO in operation, as well as sister S2 #72 at our “A Dazzling Evening with the ALCOs” event, taking place on May 17th, 2024 at the Rochester & Genesee Valley Railroad Museum. Our modest $55 ticket price includes both a day and night session (with runbys and posing in optimal light) featuring LA&L 72 and 20, as well as a pizza dinner. This afternoon we met up with R&GV Railroad Museum President Otto Vondrak to scope out and plan some photo locations, angles, and runbys for our LA&L photo session on May 17th! 💯

To help celebrate the end of 2023 and the start of a new year, museum volunteer Roman Luniewski and Alec Durfee organized an informal night photo session at the Lake Shore Railway Museum. Throughout the evening, we staged some actors and props to re-create scenes from the past. It was truly a fantastic evening with a small group of friends! Due to unforeseen circumstances, some of our friends who were going to pose as actors and bring some extra props that we had planned were unable to attend and join in on the fun. Naturally, we had to make do with what we had! Many thanks to the Lake Shore Railroad Museum and their volunteers for allowing us to have this night photo session on their museum grounds! Stay tuned for what's to come in 2024! We have some exciting stuff in the works!

On July 14th, 2023, we hosted a special photo charter on the Arcade & Attica Railroad, based in Arcade, NY. Our passengers had a phenomenal time photographing the railroad’s signature duo of operational centercabs, featuring freight, passenger, and mixed consists.
