Here is, Santa.. Yes Santa with Swindley at the New Wizard Quest location set to open near Thanksgiving 2021. The new location is more than double the size of the current location! That’s right! 27,000 square feet of out of this world, fantasy escape room style quest for every level of questor! Wisconsin Dells' Mt. Olympus Water and Theme Park is building the nation's first rotating waterslide as part of a $23 million expansion.

The project includes a new 22,500-square-foot building attached to the indoor waterpark. The rotating waterslide, named Medusa's Slidewheel, is a four-person raft ride that combines the rotation of a Ferris Wheel with the propulsion of a waterslide, according to a news release from architecture and engineer firm Ramaker and Associates, which is working on the project.

Outside of the United States, the only other rotating waterslides are in China and Poland, the news release said.

Mt. Olympus announced the project on its page Aug. 6. Construction began in July and is scheduled to be completed by Memorial Day 2022.

In addition to Medusa's Slidewheel, the expansion project will include a large swimming pool area, Mt. Olympus CEO and owner Nick Laskaris said in an interview.

"I think it’s going to be a tremendous impact in a positive way," Laskaris said. "It's more square footage so people can spread out more. And there will just be a lot more area for people to enjoy."

The existing indoor waterpark is currently being remodeled to match the new addition, and will reopen to the public before Labor Day.

Laskaris said the indoor waterpark was in need of a size and theme update, as it had not been remodeled since he purchased the park in 2007 — then known as Treasure Island — and rebranded it Mt. Olympus, with a Greek mythology theme.

Huck's Landing, a children's play area, was demolished to make room for the expansion.

As soon as construction on the building addition is completed in 2022, the expanded indoor waterpark will be open in time for the summer.
