Woke up to raindrops outside my bedroom window
Restaurant has moved all its tables n chairs inside
Cloudy, intermittent rain but no real wind yet
Super high tide so monitoring the lines is the most important thing
I think we are suppose to get the worse part of the storm between 10-12 tonight

Magic Moment decided to stay n stick it out but we are battening down the hatches
Soft good n covers are all inside
Kayak n umbrella are down
We are now tied to the Bar’s sea wall since we sit on an end pier n can only tie to one side
I think we are pretty ready

We are fine at the moment. Looks like our friends on the West side will get hit hard and our thoughts and prayers are with them 🙏

Our marina is fine
We are just seeing some cloudy, rainy weather with a few bursts of wind gusts. But nothing we can’t handle.

Should the situation change
We will move to a calmer more protected anchorage

Every now and then the Capt and crew take a day off from our regular Charter’s and deliver a boat

Today we are delivering a 36’ Regal from Vera Beach to Ft Lauderdale

65 Rose Ceremony

In 1965 a very observant 4 year old heard his disease “Cystic Fibrosis” pronounced for the first time

What he heard was “65 Roses”

From that day the legacy of ”65 Roses” was born and it continues today

As these paddlers heard the story that morning and were presented with their roses it was an extremely emotional moment for many of us

They paddled our forming a complete circle showing their love, support and dedication, before releasing their roses in the ocean

I’m not exactly sure what to say
This weekend was extremely humbling to me
The shear number of people who participated in this event as well as all those who spent months logistically pulling this all together was mind boggling

There we so many great times n events, the pictures don’t do this event justice

I can’t tell these two Courageous women enough how proud I am of them and what a honor it was to be part of this event

Practicing for Cystic Fibrosis Run

Little bit of ingenuity from Capt Chris
We needed to find a way to slow the boat to no more than 2 1/2 knots for the Paddlers behind the boat

Problem is, the slowest the boat goes is 5 knots on 1 engine

Capt’s solution was to rig the dingy to the boat
Take the steering off dingy and attach to boat and use the dingy to keep us straight and maintain 2 1/2 knots

Of course that doesn’t account for the current which will be adjusted as we go but it did work like a charm !

In less than 20 days, Magic Moment will have the honor of being a Support boat as more than 100 Paddle Boarders navigate the weather and currents for 80 miles from Bimini to Lake Worth

This event is to raise money and awareness for Cystic Fibrosis

We encourage our friends and followers to follow the crossing on Sunday, June 26 and to donate to this great cause, if you’d like
