Today, I’m in the process of closing down for the Holiday. I was away from my phone and missed a call from a long-time client. He didn’t leave a message, but I called back. He just wanted to let me know how much his family appreciates me as their travel agent, and to wish me Merry Christmas. This, folks, is why I do what I do. I love making my clients happy and look forward to working with each and every one.

This is definitely on my bucket list. If I can get enough people interested in going, I could plan a group trip to see the Northern Lights! Who knows, maybe we can see a volcano erupt at the same time? (No promises though!) Who’s in????

When most think of "travel", it usually involves a planned trip, flights, cruises, or exotic locations. Tom & I recently traveled to Washington, DC from New Stanton, PA. We'd never driven that route before and were surprised when we saw a sign for the Flight 93 Memorial in Shanksville, PA. We sporadically decided to drive there. It easily added an extra 2 hours to our trip, but so worth it. It was a very somber and heart-wrenching reminder of the sacrifices of 40 passengers and crew. Sometimes taking a detour can make such an impact that it remains in your memories forever.

Sometimes we need to just be sporadic when traveling. Whether it be in another country or your own country, take a detour, see unplanned sights, and you might just unexpectedly make one of your best memories.

Virgin Voyages verdict: totally worth the money spent, which was a lot less than you would think for what you get - Amazing food, entertainment, service and most importantly no kids! The upgrade to Rockstar was totally worth it despite missing Mallorca, Scarlet Night and so much more, because we caught a bug. Our favorite cities were: Seville and Granada. We loved the gothic quarter in Barcelona and Seville. Spanish wine and food is amazing!
