It’s a go for my Maritime History Tour! It should be added to my offerings on Viator/TripAdvisor in the next few days. This tour is a completely different route from the History Lovers Tour. The first walking tour will be on May 17 and then every Friday and Sunday until Halloween. I personally give every tour. Hope to see you in Salem this year!

Halloween is over. Salem had 921,000 visitors during October, smashing the all-time record. Almost everyone I talked to really enjoyed their Salem visit. During the winter, I will be working on some kind of online registration system. Since I am doing this alone, I will also think about giving special tours for the mobility challenged and for special requests. I plan to restart around Memorial Day.

I've been talked into giving one more tour. Join me on what is likely to be the most crowded day in Salem's history. This Saturday at 11 am. We will avoid Essex Street until the very end. Everyone is welcome to join us. It's free. Meet at the Washington Arch on the Salem Common.

I will not be giving any more tours this year.

On five of my last six tours, no one has come. I am really discouraged. Apparently, I do not know how to sell a free tour. Facebook and Instagram did not produce a single customer.

Next year maybe I will start charging and requiring registration. Maybe that will work better.

Alright. I've gotten encouragement to continue offering four tours per week. So, I will continue with Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10 am until Halloween, in addition to Saturday and Sunday.

No one has shown up for my free tour the last three weekdays, so I'm thinking of limiting my offer to weekends. Stay tuned for my decision.

There will be plenty of room for you on the tour. My largest group so far has been five and I can take twenty or more. And it's free. I work for tips. My next three are Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday.
