Eighteen years ago, Santiago and Michelle’s paths crossed, and his love for adventure became hers, and her passion for travel became his. Throughout the years, they traveled to countries near and far, and on every trip, they left wanting to return as soon as possible. Travel took them into a state of bliss, and it became their number one passion.

In the fall of 2019, they went on a one month vacation to Spain. The trip was on their bucket list for many, many years, and took months to plan. During those months of planning, they scouted cities to visit around Spain, and at nights and weekends, they researched the unique things to see and do in each city.

Needless to say, at the end of their one month vacation, they created tons of memories and, more so, a burning desire to show others the astonishing places they found throughout Spain. That’s how the idea of Playing Abroad was born. Santiago and Michelle wanted to show others The Real Alcazar in Seville, where Queen Elizabeth’s daughter was married back in the 15th century, or a place called Fuente De in the north of Spain where they took a gondola to the top of the Peaks of Europe and hiked into the clouds. They wanted to share the experiences of blending in with the locals and eating tapas at 2 pm followed by an espresso or sitting in a small cave-like room where the flamenco dancers are so close you can feel the vibrations of their footwork.

After living professional lives with great careers and traveling around the world, Santiago and Michelle came to the realization that many people were missing out on the joys they’ve experienced while traveling overseas. Along the way, life takes everyone in many directions, and for one reason or another, many tend to make excuses to avoid traveling overseas; most of the time, the excuses derive from the fear or lack of knowledge of where to begin. That is where Santiago and Michelle come in; they will plan your trip and take care of the logistics, and accompany you on an extraordinary journey throughout Spain.
