Off season renovations began early this year. We are adding a front porch and front door. A new side deck will tie the front porch in wirh the back deck. New steps with a landing halfway up will make for an easier climb up from the ground level. Can't wait to see how much it changes the whole look of the house!

The hurricane brought a lot of water to Cherry Grove last night. Amanda, our property manager, lives about three streets over on 44th and was sending me updates until around 10:00. Her place is not on pillars and the water was up to her deck at last report. The streets appear to be flooded. Praying that the water stays out of her hourlse and that there is minimal damage at our place!

The "off-season" has arrived in Cherry Grove. That means it is time for more improvements to the beach house. First project for this fall/winter is a new covered deck on the back of the house. It's still not quite finished, but Greg did get it put together enough for our renters this weekend. Thanks go out to Marley and her family for being so understanding about the construction!

Holding our breath today as Dorian approaches Cherry Grove. Amanda, our property manager, tried to get to the house to check on things a little while ago. She lives just south of Main Street and tried to come up Ocean Boulevard but couldn't make it. Ocean Boulevard is already flooded south of Main Street. She then tried to go up highway 17 to Sea Mountain Highway. Sea Mountain is flooded before you even get to the traffic light and The Shack. All of this is happening at low tide. Main part of the storm is expected at high tide. I get the feeling that there is going to be a lot of water under the house!

We have very few dates remaining in the month of September. The only dates we have open in September are the 3rd through the 11th. It's a great time for a fall weekend getaway. We are offering a special deal for a two night minimum stay during these dates to our Facebook friends. For a minimum of two nights we have reduced the nightly rate to $250 per night and waived the cleaning fee. Save even more on four or seven night stays. Come enjoy the cooler weather and watch some football in our new downstairs sitting area!

Welcome to the Swann's Nest at Cherry Grove in North Myrtle Beach. Thank you to everyone who stayed with us for the past couple of years. We have been working hard to renovate the house and make it not only a great vacation home for ourselves, but for others as well. Our hope is that others will feel just at home at our beach house as we do.
