Seeing bears in the winter is a rare treat. Seeing them up close is an unforgettable experience! The thickness of glaciers across the globe ranges from half a mile to 36 miles in height. The sheer weight of its own ice combined with gravity creates a massive amount of pressure, causing movement, cracking, and occasionally an up-shooting of ice to make cool "pressure ridge" formations like the one pictured!
