Continuing to recap out August 2024 Walt Disney World Trip…
Day 5 – Magic Kingdom
Since we moved over to Wilderness Lodge (full recap coming!), we were able to take a boat to Magic Kingdom. This is such a nice and peaceful way to get to the park.
If you want to get good castle pictures with your kids, try to do it right when you get there! If you wait until later, you might end up with crabby kids/no smiles.
Magic Kingdom definitely has the MOST for kids, in terms of both attractions and characters.
Because we did so many character meals earlier in the trip, we prioritized rides.
We did meet Pooh and Tigger though, and that was such a cute highlight.
Our favorite attractions with our kids: Little Mermaid, Dumbo, Haunted Mansion, Winnie the Pooh, Pirates of the Caribbean, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Peter Pan’s Flight, Small World, Jungle Cruise.
We also LOVE the Festival of Fantasy parade. Highly recommend prioritizing this for little ones.
We took a break in the afternoon to let the kids rest, but returned in time for our Fireworks Dessert Pre-party. This prepaid event allows guests entrance to Tomorrowland Terrace to enjoy dessert and drinks before heading to their private guaranteed viewing spot for the fireworks. This is costly, but I really loved not having to stress about getting a fireworks like usual.
Because we were staying in a deluxe resort, we got to stay 2-hours after park closing to regular guests. We had an almost-empty park from 11 pm to 1 am. The kids were asleep in the stroller while my husband and I took turns riding some roller coasters. This is SUCH a great perk for deluxe guests. It happens on select nights each week.
Magic Kingdom is always a park I wish I had more time at! There truly is too much to do in one day.
