Mickey's Once Upon a Christmas is kind of the one-stop-shop of Christmas films. Filled with merriment, this holiday favorite features Mickey, Minnie, and their friends as they reminisce about their most memorable moments together. Christmas moments, that is!
Mickey’s Twice Upon a Christmas
In this animated sequel, Santa Claus joins Mickey, Minnie, and the gang to learn about the true meaning of Christmas. This movie includes five animated shorts with scenes that perfectly encapsulate the season.
Mickey’s Christmas Carol
While we’re on a Mickey kick here, allow me to cast my vote for the most heartwarming holiday hit out there, Mickey’s Christmas Carol. This truncated version on the Dicken’s classic retells the iconic story using Disney characters, including Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and more! It's warm, fuzzy, funny, and old fashioned in that Christmas-kinda-way.
The Muppet Christmas Carol
I can’t help it – I prefer my Dickson’s characters played animals and amphibians. The Muppets treat this reimagining with care and respect, pulling out all the tender moments… and double downing on all the funny. Here, we get to witness Kermit, Statler, Waldorf, and Fozzie play against Michael Caine’s Scrooge. In my humble opinion, Caine’s rendition of the infamous sourpuss is hands down the best out there.
The Santa Clause 3
Sure, sure, sure… The Santa Clause is a classic. But The Santa Clause 3 is by far the funniest of them all. If you’re looking for a good laugh this holiday season, you can’t do any better than Tim Allen and Martin Short.
Olaf's Frozen Adventure
Follow Olaf and Sven as they travel throughout Arendelle to learn about holiday traditions to help Elsa and Anna. The entire cast make a triumphant return for this new adventure, which includes an array of new songs that rival anything from the original film. Don't believe me? Check it out for yourself.
Beauty and the Beast: Enchanted Christmas
Who couldn’t use another dose of Belle and her enchanted friends? Especially when the cast is rounded out by Tim Curry, Paul Reubens, and Bernadette Peters! Full of holiday cheer and a grandiose score, this underrated sequel is guaranteed to put a smile on your face.
Winnie the Pooh: Seasons of Giving
Join Pooh, Tigger, Piglet, Rabbit and the rest of the gang as they come together to celebrate Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas! Sweet, innocent, and full of nostalgia, this seasonal special somehow slips through the radar. Well, not anymore!
I’ll Be Home for Christmas
Filled with hijinks and hilarity, this holiday comedy is surprisingly satifying. JTT plays a college student named Jake who is lured home for Christmas with the promise of an awfully nice sports car. How’s that for a present? Will he be able to snag the keys when troublemakers on the football team desert him in a Santa suit sans wallet? His promised Porsche isn’t the only thing he'll have to worry about – looks like his main squeeze is cozying up to his rival as this holiday debacle unfolds.

Anna Kendrick stars as Santa's daughter Noelle. When her brother Nick disappears after being appointed to the role of Santa, she goes on a mission to bring him back before the start of Christmas. You’ll also find a few fun on-screen appearances from Billy Eichner, Shirley MaClaine and Julie Hagerty! It’s silly, predictable, and exactly when the Holiday called for.

Although Disneyland was the inspiration of one man, Walt did not achieve this history-altering concept on his own. BOB GURR: Legendary Imagineer probes deeper into his life and times. While a few more of his projects are described, the primary tales that Bob weaves are about the passions and adventures in his life that the reader might find most interesting, quite beyond the general public knowledge of his connection with Walt Disney.
Why We Love It: Bob Gurr, the man responsible for countless iconic Disney ride vehicles, opens the vault and gives us a rarely seen insiders glimpse into his life. It affectionally captures his humble and sincere personality, as seen in The Imagineering Story on Disney+.
Dream It! Do It!: My Half-Century Creating Disney’s Magic Kingdoms by Marty Sklar
Marty Sklar was hired by The Walt Disney Company after his junior year at UCLA, and began his Disney career at Disneyland in July 1955, the month before the park opened. He spent his first decade at Disney as “the kid,” the very youngest of the creative team Walt had assembled at WED Enterprises. Soon, he’d become Walt’s literary right-hand man. Over the next forty years, Marty Sklar rose to become president and principal creative executive of Walt Disney Imagineering, and he devoted his entire career to creating, enhancing, and expanding Walt’s magical empire. A full-color book reveals the engineering and scientific wizardry behind Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disneyland Paris, and Tokyo Disneyland through the drawings, models, and stories of the Disney Imagineers, beginning with Walt Disney himself.
Why We Love It: This book is an endless treasure trove of notes, sketches, and details. If you look pulling back the curtain, this book is an absolute must have.
Walt Disney Imagineering: A Behind the Dreams Look at Making More Magic Real by The Imagineers
In this sequel to the best-selling Walt Disney Imagineering: A Behind-the-Dreams Look at Making the Magic Real, the Imagineers serve up another dose of magic with an even closer look at who they are, what they do, and how they do it, illuminating their theories and explaining the tools they use, and where and how they use them. In my opinion, this offering is superior to the projection shows offered at Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. I think a lot of that has to do with the tranquility and grace of each movement, creating a love letter to nature.

What Is Fantasmic!?
Fantasmic! is Disney’s Hollywood Studios nighttime spectacular. Featuring stunning effects, thrilling stunts, dazzling pyrotechnics and rousing music, this larger-than-life show is painted on a grand canvas of dancing water and light.
Fast asleep, Mickey Mouse dreams that he is a mighty sorcerer’s apprentice with the power to control water, color and magic. The Disney Villains turn Mickey’s dream into a nightmare! But don’t underestimate the power of Mickey’s imagination.
Fantasmic! is Back!
Fantasmic! originally opened at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on Oct. 15, 1998 and has featured characters and animation from more than 25 Disney films. However, it suffered an extended break that began when changes were made to park offerings throughout the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Once again, the forces of good and evil will once again battle it out in Mickey’s dream as the long-awaited return of Fantasmic! debuts on November 3 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
New & Improved Fantasmic!
The return of Fantasmic! will include the debut of an all-new sequence that will bring to life heroic moments from Disney stories such as “Moana,” “Mulan,” “Aladdin,” “Pocahontas,” and “Frozen 2.”
This new version is also 3 minutes longer than the previous Hollywood Studios version.
The new heroes sequence features a high-energy Aladdin chase with stunts never before seen on the “Fantasmic!” stage, a powerful scene with Elsa set to the song “Show Yourself” that is sure to thaw the most frozen of hearts, and stirring moments with Pocahontas, Moana and Mulan.
To help choreograph the authentic Chinese martial arts you’ll see in Mulan’s scene, the creative team brought in Mimi Chan – the original muse and model animators used when bringing the character of Mulan to life for the 1998 animated film.
What Disney Is Saying About Fantasmic!
“In bringing Fantasmic! back, we have a brand-new scene that we’re calling our Disney Heroes scene,” says Matthew Hamel, show director for Disney Live Entertainment. “We get to see some new characters introduced to Fantasmic!, and we get to show their stories in a new, unique way utilizing a combination of projections, lasers and new lighting.”
“Fantasmic! is a show that will take you on a journey to see so many characters, so many villains and heroes,” says Melanie Gagne, entertainment proprietor for Disney’s Hollywood Studios. “It’s one of our biggest shows, and many guests will plan their day or their entire vacation around Fantasmic!
“Bringing back Fantasmic! here at Disney’s Hollywood Studios means so much to our guests,” says Mena Rick. “It was a task to not only preserve the legacy of the show but also introduce new characters for the next generation.”
“It was extremely exciting to take advantage of technological enhancements that didn’t originally exist when the show opened in 1998,” says Katrina Mena Rick, broadcast creative producer for Disney Live Entertainment. “So, we [worked] with other disciplines such as special effects, lighting, lasers and music to ensure that our visual content was as exactly seamless and as beautiful as it could be.”
What You Need To Know
Fantasmic! is performed nightly at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Guests can enter the Hollywood Hills Amphitheater up to 90 minutes prior to the show’s start.
Since it is an outdoor venue, the show is subject to cancellation due to inclement weather.
Showtimes are subject to change. Beginning October 26, dining packages for select restaurants at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be available for dining beginning November 30, 2022.
To experience Fantasmic! guests need both a valid park admission and a park reservation for Disney’s Hollywood Studios on the same date.

What to Expect from FALL at Disney World:There is nothing quite like Fall at Disney World. Ask any fan and they will it agree, it is hands down one of the best times to visit the parks. Not only do the heavy summer crowds begin to disperse once school starts up again, but the weather becomes a bit more manageable for the masses. We can’t get enough of the EPCOT festivals! This one runs from mid-July to mid-November. Wine and dine throughout World Showcase as you feast on some of the finest culinary explorations out there. And guess what? You don’t even need a special ticket to get it! That’s right, this one is included in the price of admission. So, go ahead… dig in.
Wine and Dine Half Marathon Weekend
Feeling up for a little run? Join your crew for the runDisney Wine and Dine Half Marathon Weekend, this year from Nov. 3 to 6. The weekend consists of a 5K, 10K and half marathon that run through the parks before opening.
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party
Now, we know what you’re thinking! But Walt Disney World starts celebrating Christmas in the Fall. And you can too at Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, running on select nights from Nov. 8 to Dec. 22! This separately ticketed event showcases rare characters, special entertainment, jolly-good treats, ride overlays and more! Just be sure to bring your jackets because Weatherman Mickey has predicted a high chance of “snowfall” on Main Street.
