Thought I would share some happy news.

Sixty-five years to the date after the historic opening of Disneyland park, we are planning to open our theme park gates once again on July 17, 2020, welcoming guests back to the Disneyland Resort.

My middle child is on a virtual field trip to Disneyland with his class right now. So naturally he is showing them where hidden Mickey's are and showing off his lanyards that are covered in his pins.
Hopefully soon we can all go on vacation to our happy places, wherever that may be.

Our four-legged Cast Members are having a great time at the Circle D Ranch in Norco, CA! But as one of our Cast Members put it – “Life on the ranch is good. But all of us — horses included — are looking forward to being back on Main Street, U.S.A., soon!”

I cannot take the credit for writing this, but it really gets to the heart of what our industry is facing and importance of supporting local business whenever we can.

Travel and Tourism accounts for 330 million jobs- that’s 1 out of every 10 jobs around the world is affected by tourism.

The travel industry has been dealing with the coronavirus since January . . . an additional two full months before it significantly impacted anyone’s lives in the U.S. And, it will likely be one of the last industries to start up again.

Travel agents only get paid when their clients travel. Most are not eligible for any sort of government loan, including small business funding. My agents have been refunding their hard earned dollars back to their clients by the thousands. Most haven’t booked new trips now for months.

**I️ beg you, when you do decide to travel again- PLEASE use a travel agent. Even if it is not our agency, just please use a live person. Please do not click the “book” button on a website.**

To my industry colleagues - you are warriors. Until we are traveling again.

It has been a while... I am missing Disney something fierce. I keep picturing that moment when I get to walk down Main Street and try to find the family who has never been before. One of my favorite things is seeing the looks on their faces when they see the glory of Disneyland for the very first time. It almost brings a tear to my eye thinking about it.
Special memories are sure to be made when you're under the influence of Disney Magic.

The Disneyland Resort has an ongoing commitment to reducing food waste, and during the temporary closure of Disneyland park and Disney California Adventure park will be donating excess food inventory to Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County.

Only 2 more days till we are in Maui, Hawaii.
