A Magical Voyage on the Disney Wish: A Family Review
The Disney Wish not only sets the bar high for family cruising but also captivates with its enchantment and attention to detail, making it an unforgettable experience for all ages. My family, comprising two adults and three children aged 10, 8, and 2, recently embarked on this dreamy adventure, and we’re already planning our next one!
Pros:
• Food: Every meal was a delight, from casual dining to upscale experiences, offering a variety of flavors that catered well to both adult tastes and picky young eaters. The quality and presentation were beyond expectations.
• Service: Disney’s reputation for impeccable service shines brightly on the Wish. The crew’s attentiveness and friendliness made us feel like royalty. Every staff member went out of their way to engage with the kids and ensure every family member was having a great time.
• Entertainment: The array of shows, character interactions, and deck parties were top-notch, keeping us engaged and entertained throughout the voyage. Each day offered new performances that dazzled all age groups, especially the Broadway-caliber shows.
• Oceanear Club: Both my 10-year-old and 8-year-old loved the Oceanear Club. This children’s activity center is brimming with Disney magic and creative activities that kept them entertained and engaged, giving us parents some relaxing downtime.
• Castaway Cay: This private island paradise was a highlight. There’s so much to do that we felt we could spend multiple days exploring and still find new things to enjoy. From snorkeling to bike rentals and everything in between, the island was perfectly equipped for family fun.
• Staterooms: The beautifully themed staterooms with incredibly comfortable beds provided a welcome retreat after busy days. They were well-maintained, spacious, and equipped with all the essentials, plus some magical Disney touches.
• Aquamouse: This water coaster is a thrilling ride that shouldn’t be missed. It’s fun for all ages and provides a unique experience that combines Disney storytelling with exciting splashes and turns.
Cons:
• Navigating with a Stroller: The ship’s layout and crowded areas made it challenging to navigate with a stroller. The staterooms, although beautiful, weren’t the easiest to manage with a stroller either.
• Splash Pad: The splash pad area for toddlers was disappointingly small and the limited time available for use made it difficult for our youngest to fully enjoy.
• Activities for Toddlers: There seemed to be a gap in dedicated activities for toddlers. While there were some options, they were not as abundant or as engaging as those for older children.
Overall:
Despite a few navigational challenges and the need for more toddler-focused activities, the Disney Wish delivered a spectacular family vacation. The positives far outweighed the negatives, leaving us with countless cherished memories. The magic of Disney at sea is something truly special, and we are eager to set sail again. If you’re a family looking for a blend of luxury, fun, and magical moments, the Disney Wish is a fantastic choice.
