I've got clients heading to Costa Rica next month and we just wrapped up booking some excursion adventures! They'll be enjoying a stay at Dreams Las Mareas, an all inclusive resort. And while they'll be enjoying some fun in the sun at the pool, they will also see the beauty of the Costa Rican countryside on horseback and enjoy a day of exploration & relaxation with an experience that takes them on a walk through the Costa Rican forest, cooling off in the refreshing waters of the Oropendola waterfall, and soak in a natural hot springs.🤩
Two beaches in downtown Playa del Carmen both photos taken today; the beaches are about 20 blocks apart.
What is that brown stuff? It's called Sargassum and it's a genus of large brown seaweed (a type of algae) that floats in island-like masses and never attaches to the seafloor. Visitors to Mexico, the Caribbean, and even Florida may see this wash up on beaches.
Many all inclusive resorts in Mexico & the Caribbean work hard to clear the beach when sargassum washes up, but it's a ton of work. And it's up to Mother Nature and how the tide is as to where it goes. This is something to keep in mind when traveling to a destination in the tropical Atlantic/Gulf of Mexico area.
