Hi there, I'm Teddy 😃
I managed to find ways to save about 3k USD when traveling to Europe this year. That's why I founded my company Travel Hacker Teddy (THT).
But let's start at the beginning: I was graduating college and so did not have a lot of cash. But that didn't lessen my desire to travel and explore. I was on a mission to find solutions that allowed me to travel to Europe, no matter what. So, I searched and searched. Spent countless hours in front of the screen, researching travel hacks to get to Europe, and figuring out how I could make this happen.
And well. I figured out that there are ways to get to insanely cheap flights and free accommodation. Flights and accommodation are what usually cost the most when traveling. I was able to spend the entire summer exploring Europe. My round-trip ticket to Europe, cost me a mere $86, including a checked bag and carry-on. I stayed a whole month for free in Barcelona. All of that allowed me to use the money on a group tour for young adults through Eastern Europe.
I decided to go with Contiki, a travel company that specializes in group trips for folks aged 18 to 35. As a solo traveler, I loved the sense of belonging I felt among my fellow explorers. We started as strangers but quickly became a tight-knit, culturally diverse family. We covered an incredible amount of ground in a short time, and I didn't have to worry about a thing. I just had to wake up, get on the bus, and enjoy the adventure. Everything was meticulously planned and pre-booked, and our tour manager was there to answer any questions or concerns. It truly was the experience of a lifetime!
When I returned home my friends were astounded by my journey and even more so how I managed to plan it at such a low cost. They began asking me for advice and help with their own travel plans.
That’s how I got the idea to become a travel hacker consultant and found THT. I decided to specialize in finding the best group tours for US college students and helping them secure the cheapest flights.
So that’s me. I’m excited to read more about you! Have you been to Europe already?
