The City of Pilsen was founded in 1295 by King Wenceslaus II of Bohemia, who gave to 260 Pilsner citizens the 📝 right to brew the beer. (This may not sound like much to us today but brewing beer back in the day? That's awesome and revolutionary!)

The privilege to make beer was very profitable financially, its allowed the holder to sell 🍺 beer in his house.

Other manufactures include chemicals, pottery, hardware, and paper.

The city is the transportation 🧩 hub and the economic and 🎭 cultural center of western Bohemia.

It really has shaped the evolution of the city from a prosperous mining 🏗 centre to a city 🌇 where there's something always happening thanks to a fantastic year long programme of festivals 🥁 plus there's a small but excellent concentration of 🔖 art museums.

Olomouc is a city in 📪 Moravia and the administrative center of the Olomouc Region.

It has about 100,000 residents with a surrounding urban zone 🛋 of a population of 480,000 people.

Olomouc has several 📍 historical religious buildings and large squares.

Prague is famous for its cultural life. Wolfgang Amadeus 🎹 Mozart lived there, and his Prague Symphony and Don Giovanni 📣 were first performed in the city!

In addition, the lyric music of the great Czech composers 🎼 Bedřich Smetana, Antonín Dvořák, and Leoš Janáček is commemorated each year in a 🎸 spring music festival.

Alaska is America's largest, most northerly 🧭 and wildest state filled with 🧊 glaciers, vast forests and 🐳 iconic wildlife.

As usual, my adventure on a cruise consisted of me taking a bunch of pictures for keepsakes, but this one… WOW. Glassblowing 💡 on a cruise ship? Yes, you can!

REALLY mind blowing how beautiful it is in front of my eyes.

A relic of the Little Ice Age that lasted until the mid-18th century, the Mendenhall Glacier is an example of a receding 🧊 glacier (about 100 to 150 feet [30 to 45 metres] a year), displaying raw glacier moraine with exposed remnants of a long-buried forest.

Exploring Mendenhall Glacier on your 👣 own is rewarding and allows you to stay as long ⏳ as you want!

Hubbard has been nicknamed the "galloping glacier" because of how quickly it's advancing ⛎ toward the Gulf of Alaska through Disenchantment Bay.

The ice that calves from the glaciers is important ❄️ habitat, especially for harbor 🦭 seals. Seals use the ice to haul out to give birth, rest, protect pups, and to molt!

Despite folklore suggesting that the water is the 🩸 blood of Gods, the bloody red color is in fact caused by red sediments 🧬 and algae in the water.

Laguna Colorada is located close to the Chilean 🛣️ border and stretches across 6000 hectares.

The 🦩 flamingo here is native to the Altiplano area, and favors the plankton-heavy water of Laguna Colorada.

Other animals which can be found in the area around the lake include llamas, alpacas, Andean 🦊 foxes, cats and pumas, all of which live in the Andes region.

Between April and September there is a chance of ☃️ snow, especially to the north, but it is not very common.

Warm, humid weather and refreshing 🎏 breezes can be expected during these times.

At higher altitudes, temperatures are cooler with snow ❄️ occurring at an elevation above 2000 meters (6500 ft).

Bolivia is traditionally regarded as a highland country.

Although only one-third of its territory lies in the Andes Mountains, most of the nation's largest cities are located there, and for centuries the highlands 🏔️ have attracted the nation's largest amount of mining, commercial, and business investment.

Cruz de la Sierra is located on 📌 the east of Bolivia!

It has a population of over 1.5 million inhabitants, wth Santa Cruz as the largest and 💰 richest city in Bolivia.

The area was first 🏗 explored by the Spaniard Gaspar de Portolá (1769), who named the hills above the river running through the area Santa Cruz, meaning “Holy Cross” ✝️ in Spanish.

Potosí fun facts!
🥈Potosí was once one of the largest and wealthiest cities in the world.
🥈Potosí was built on silver mines.
🥈Potosi is located at 4,090 meters above sea level. Which is literally halfway to the heights of Everest!
🥈Potosi has silver mine tours, museums, and hot springs, and all of them is a taxi ride away!

Originally known as Villa de Oropeza, the city was later named Cochabamba, the Quechua name for the area, meaning “a plain full of small lakes.”

The pleasant climate 🌥️ and surroundings have contributed to making Cochabamba one of Bolivia's largest cities.

It is known as the "City of Eternal Spring" or "The Garden City" because of its spring-like temperatures all year round.

Sucre is rich in history and colonial architecture and in 1991 was declared a 🏅 UNESCO World Heritage site.

It is located in a valley at the foot of the Cordillera Real, a branch of the Andes Mountains.

The lush countryside is well watered by the Río Cachimayo, which crosses through it!

Sucre is a nice place to chill, visit the 🛒 markets, parks, walk 👣 about.

Plenty of museums worth visiting too!

Although La Paz lies just 16° 🧭 south of the equator, its great altitude results in a cool 🍂 climate.

Regardless of the time of year, the average temperature in La Paz varies by just a 🌡️ few degrees.

FUN FACT: This is also the highest city 📈 in the world with a population of more than one million is La Paz!

The town of Uyuni itself is located at an elevation of 3700 meters above 🌀 sea level (12,139 feet).

Now, make no mistake, because this is a very high altitude!

To avoid 🆙 altitude sickness, make sure you are always eating ⚖️ balanced nutritious meals throughout the day.

Stay hydrated - Drink lots of water and avoid coffee and alcohol.

AND take it easy!

Don't overexert yourself!

Intense physical 🚫 exercise should be avoided at great altitudes.

Copacabana is the gateway 🚸 to two of the most sacred islands, Isla del Sol and Isla de la Luna.

Both Islands offer 🧗‍♀️ hiking and Inca ruins to explore.

Not only are the islands beautiful, but so is the 🚣‍♀ boat ride across the sparkling blue waters of the lake.

On warmer days you can go for a 👙 swim at Playas Blancas de Yampupata.

It is a peaceful destination that is perfect for a 🏖️ relaxing retreat.

Here, much of the city center was destroyed in the Great 🔥 Fire of 1917.

The rebuilt 20th-century city has a modern European layout.

Thessaloniki is one of the most affordable places to 🧳 holiday in Greece, especially when it comes to food.

Due to its reduced tourism compared to the islands and the south, the ❤️ heart of the city has been relatively untainted and therefore friendly for those on a ⚖️ budget who would like to visit.

Syrians were probably the first 📜 ones to blow glass in the first century BC! History suggests that they discovered the technique of blowing into a hollow tube to introduce an air 🌬 bubble into 🌡 hot glass. (How interesting is that?!) The face of the glacier is also a prime spot for whale 🤓 watching in Alaska. Orca whales prowl just around the ice barrier and humpbacks feed off krill upwellings.
