We loved this place! Amazing views, and a quiet, beautiful location. We traveled into San Diego every day and it was totally worth the 1 hour commute. We’ll be staying here again in the future.

A slice of heaven
This hidden gem was the perfect get away in the mountains. The home was inviting and beautiful and everything that you needed. The outdoor space and views were spectacular. Add in all the adorable birds at the feeders and it truly was a slice of heaven.

This was our first trip to San Diego. Loved it! We debated staying out always but we are so happy we did. 45min or so from most attractions. The home is so beautiful, peaceful and cozy. The inside is so clean and welcoming. The outside is picture book. Evenings in the hot tub with seemingly infinite stars and daytime views of the mountains, lake and birds. The home was such a comfortable place to return to after the hustle and bustle of the days. We would love to come back to the area, and if so, this is where we would choose to stay……hands down. Thank you!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this property and can confidently say that it exceeded all of my expectations. The breathtaking views alone made it worth the visit, providing a sense of tranquility and connection with nature. The interior of the property was incredibly cozy and warm, offering everything one would need for a comfortable stay. What truly sets this property apart is its perfect balance of being far away from the city, allowing for a peaceful and serene atmosphere, while still remaining conveniently close to urban amenities. It was truly the best of both worlds. One of the highlights of my stay was the abundance of beautiful birds that could be observed from the property. I found myself spending hours mesmerized by their vibrant colors and graceful flights. It truly added to the overall amazing experience. Another delightful feature of this property was being able to witness picturesque sunrises and sunsets, as well as gazing up at the stars at night. It was a truly magical sight and added an extra layer of enchantment to my stay. I must also mention the host, Laura, who went above and beyond to ensure that everything was perfect during our stay. She was attentive and accommodating, while also respecting our privacy, striking a perfect balance that made our experience even more enjoyable. In summary, I cannot find a single flaw or negative aspect about this property. It truly stands out as one of the best!

Fabulous
Many of the reviews say that the pictures don't do the property justice -and they are exactly right. The views, the amenities, the linens - everything was beyond perfect. It is a short drive to Ramona, but if you are looking for an urban adventure, this is not the place. We spent hours just watching the array of birds that came to the feeders. We felt like we had found the perfect mountain hideaway. I'm honestly at a loss to even think of a way to improve the stay.

Perfect place for star-gazing getaway
We made a late booking after seeing a promising weather forecast that suggested clear skies for star-gazing. The autonomy was better than anticipated and so was this property. The house is clean, well-stocked and situated on a hill overlooking abundant wildlife and lakeside views. An abundantly stocked set of bird feeders ensure countless colorful visitors with more birds at play than I've seen in a long time. The property would accommodate 4 people but there were two in our party, plus the pup. As a cook, I welcomed the pantry having almost everything you might need for home cooking and the pots, pans and plates were spotless. The heated spa was an unexpected bonus. It is advertised but I've become used to photos and promotions not always living up to how they look online. Here the photos don't do justice to the hot tub or, indeed, the home itself. Looking forward to a repeat visit and highly recommended.

WOW!!! We just had the best most relaxing getaway at Lara’s place. Somehow the place is even better than the pictures! Beautiful, clean and fully stocked with any amenity you could want. The whirlpool bath was amazing and the kids loved the rope swing down the hill. Bird watching was amazing with perfectly located bird feeders and we even got to see a deer family roaming around one morning and then again later that afternoon! Short drive into town (Ramona) and Julian isn’t too far either! We usually like to not repeat stay at airbnbs since there are just so many options out there but we are DEFINITELY making an exception for this place! The perfect place to get out of the hustle and bustle, breathe in the clear air and spend quality time with family. My heart is so full!

The Most Relaxing Home🌾
I want to start off by Thanking Lara for being such a Great Hostess ! We decided to book something a little more local for my Fiancé's Birthday. This place looked so perfect since we had decided on being away from city and more into the country farm side. Well let me just say the pictures do not do this place any justice. I always bring extra things on a trip (from experience staying at other vacation spots) like Spices, Sponge, extra paper towels, etc. But you literally do not need to bring anything with you ! That really impressed me that I didnt have to worry about having certain utensils for cooking. Anyways the Best part is the backyard. We watched so many types of birds, if you get lucky you will see Mama Hen and her 3 Babies while drinking a cup of coffee. Spa was so relaxing & clean w/ Beautiful sunsets above the lake. We roasted Marshmallows on the pit fire. It's such a nice relaxing Vibe. The Whole place is so immaculate , you can tell the owners of the property really take care of their home. Hands down the Best Place we have ever rented on VRBO or Air B&B. So if your looking for a home away from home, This is the Spot ! Thank you again, Amber & Eddie P.s. We did the Safari Zoo which was only a cool 30 mins away and Julian is very close (such a cute lil town & dog friendly)

This is an amazing place. The views are amazing, and the house is perfect for a couple or small family. We stayed for our 20th wedding anniversary and Bluebird Retreat was perfect for us. Seeing the wild turkeys stroll by a couple of times a day was an unexpected treat. We will definitely be back, because there is no place in Southern California quite like this!

Treat yourself! Lake Views-Serenity-Wildlife-Hot Tub-All that you would expect
This was at least our 3rd time to this property over the last few years. Each trip has been exceptional. Lots of wildlife encounters with dear, turkey, and more birds than we could count. Such a clean, well decorated, and peaceful place. Views from the whirlpool bath are spectacular. We have gone up to Julian on occasion, hiked nearby trails, and visited local wineries (Milagro was great). The hardest part of the trip is leaving each time.

Perfection
Sitting in the hot tub while watching deer and turkeys go about their day as the sun sets was absolute perfection. This is by far the most well managed property that I have ever stayed at. Lara has already thought of every detail, so you don't need to. Just show up and enjoy your stay. We will definitely be back.

Spectacular vistas
My husband and I stayed here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It was our second time visiting this property, and it remains a beautiful, clean home. Everything one could possible need is available. And the views!! Oh, they're truly lovely!! And what a gift to be able to spend time watching the birds and deer while enjoying such a peaceful environment. We can't wait to return!!

Absolutely gorgeous. One of the best airbnb’s in San Diego County. The views are spectacular, the cleanliness of the house is top notch, and the fun places to see and do around the area seems endless. Would definitely stay again.

Beautiful Paradise
Wow what a wonderful home and beautiful retreat. There are no words to describe how incredibly refreshed you feel after staying at Lara’s home. The views, the birds, the fresh air and the house is so clean and well organized that it’s effortlessly to settle in. If you need to refresh yourself or just want to escape, than Lara’s home is the place to go. It’s perfect.

Phenomenal home
Peaceful sunrises, the hum of hummingbirds, the grosbeaks, finches and jays, and the evening sunset strut of the turkeys. Lara’s home doesn’t feel like a rental, it feels like a sanctuary. Excellent hiking nearby, whirlpool bath for evening soaking, firepit for nighttime conversations. Wonderful and quick getaway from the rat race.
