We are safe in Tallahassee. Traffic was insane… we left at 9:30 am yesterday and it took 10 hours to get to Tallahassee. It usually takes 5 hours.

Crimson Dynasty is safe in a marina just south of Tallahassee.

Jim Cantore is in my hometown of Bradenton… if you know, you know. UGH !!!

What do you do with a boat when another Cat 3 hurricane is forecast for pretty much a direct hit?? RUN…. I have a crew taking the boat to Pensacola.

Praying for the people that will be affected by this storm. We are making a decision this afternoon on evacuation.

It’s been a crazy couple of weeks… huge lightning strike on the boat behind us knocked out some electronics on both of my engines as well as numerous sailing/navigation components. We’ve had to stop charters while mechanics and insurance sort this out.

And now Hurricane Helene decides to pay a visit to Florida… sideswiping Bradenton but headed right toward the Big Bend area. Forecast here is 40-45 mph winds for a few hours and 5’ - 8’ storm surge.

We will be in Venice for a couple of days and check on Crimson Dynasty this evening.

Excited to say we passed our US Coast Guard mast and rigging inspection. We had to have the mast and rigging completely taken down for inspection and it will be put back up tomorrow. Next step… sea trial with USCG in Bradenton and send inspection reports to Washington DC headquarters.

We are getting closer to being certified to take 12 passengers on our cruises. Office parties, weddings, bridal parties, retirements, birthdays…. or just a group of friends.
