The famous La Fortuna waterfall is in a village of the same name in Arenal Volcano National Park. The Arenal River’s crystal waters flow over a cliff of 70 to 75 meters to form this must-see. A great hike, though short can be quite strenuous! La Fortuna…a nature lovers dream! Breathe in that fresh mountain air!
Jaguars are big cats (third largest after lions and tigers) found in many areas of Costa Rica. Spotting them can be tough since they prefer dense vegetation and generally roam at night, and of course it’s never guaranteed. Your best chance though would be in the Tortuguero area. You’d be lucky to spot. And remember, you’re on their turf now!
Of the approximate 338 known species of hummingbirds, about 50 of them can be found in Costa Rica! Your best bet for viewing these winged wonders would be to head to the rainforests - they love the tropical environment!

Heredia is home to some of Costa Rica’s most famous coffee plantations. Temperatures in the province vary from warm and humid in the north to cool in mountainous areas, perfect for growing!

A wide variety of Costa Rican plants and wildlife can be discovered at one of the country’s many tours of aerial walking trails on hanging bridges. They’re commonly found around Arenal Volcano and in the Monteverde cloud forest. A must when visiting these areas!
