One of my most amazing travel experiences was onboard the Aranui 5 in French Polynesia. I was fortunate enough to spend time on the ship in May, visiting the Marquesas and Society Islands.

One of my favorite ways to explore French Polynesia, logically, is by water! And there are quite a few options to consider.

The Paul Gauguin ship offers a luxurious experience (AND a nice discount for reservations made in October PLUS my agency often has added complimentary amenities!)

The Aranui is a very different experience; it's part cruise ship, part freighter, delivering supplies to distant islands, where many other ships never visit.
