Hurricane Milton, now a dangerous Category 5 storm, is rapidly approaching Florida’s Gulf Coast, with the Tampa Bay area expected to be hardest hit. The storm, with winds reaching 160 mph, could bring storm surges as high as 15 feet, posing a severe threat to life and property. Residents in evacuation zones are urged to leave immediately as highways become increasingly congested with fleeing residents.

Milton is also projected to impact Florida's east coast with heavy rain and flooding as it moves across the state. Officials are urging those in vulnerable areas to act quickly and follow evacuation orders.

As a result, several major airports have suspended operations:

Tampa International Airport (TPA): Closed since Tuesday morning in anticipation of the storm.

Orlando International Airport (MCO): Also shut down as the storm intensifies.

Travelers should stay alert for more updates as other airports may also be affected as the situation evolves. Local advisories and news updates will provide the latest information.

Disney World-

-Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom will close at 1pm October 9.

- Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and Disney Springs will close at 2pm October 9.

They will remained closed Thursday October 10, this includes Mickey's Not So Scary party is cancelled. Additionally, some hotels, including Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground and Treehouse Villas, will remain closed until at least October 13th.

Disney is waiving cancellation fees for dining and experience reservations and will provide automatic refunds for any prepaid experiences canceled due to the storm. Guests staying on property are being advised to follow safety protocols, and transportation services will be limited​

Universal Studios-

-Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure will remain open until 2 p.m., while Volcano Bay will be closed all day. On October 10, all parks, including CityWalk, will be closed. Additionally, Halloween Horror Nights events scheduled for October 9 and 10 have been canceled​

-Universal's hotels will continue to operate to accommodate guests during the storm. They are equipped to handle hurricane conditions, and staff members are trained for emergency situations​.

-The parks are expected to reopen on October 11, pending the storm's impact​
