Construction has restarted on a large, new waterfront restaurant in Osprey, FL.

Deep Lagoon Seafood & Oyster House is being built on the site of the former Flying Bridge and Caroline's on the Bay restaurants on Blackburn Point Road, overlooking the Casey Key "swing" bridge. Permits were originally applied for in 2020, and construction was delayed for about a year.

This will be the 4th SWFL outpost for the small chain, which has locations in Ft. Myers, Naples and Marco Island. The restaurant describes themselves as "upscale casual seafood" and promise fresh catch. Dinner prices range from a $15 cheeseburger, a $22 tripletail fish & chips to "Chef's Selections" items, such as: Grouper Oscar, Stuffed Hogfish, Mahi Thermidor, Grouper Rockefeller and are mostly $30 - $40 and include a vegetable and potato side items.

Shellfish, like king crab, stone crab, lobster tails, snow crab and whole Maine lobster are listed as market price. Seafood is also available from the fresh fish case prepared as a platter, salad or sandwich and offered blackened, broiled, fried or sauteed and include a whole snapper in the choices.
The raw bar offers oysters, clams and shrimp, as well as a "Big Chill" seafood tower for $130 if a whole Maine lobster, shrimp, stone crab claws, tuna tataki, oysters, and pickled clams and mussels.

A full bar and children's menu will be available, along with a daily happy hour of discounted drinks and small plates.

According to a spokesperson, the new restaurant, which is under the same parent company as Pinchers, is expected to be open by April.
